THE KILLERS frontman BRANDON FLOWERS was so overwhelmed when NEW ORDER bassist PETER HOOK approached him for a photograph, he locked lips with his hero. New Order were seated next to The Killers at the NME AWARDS in London in February (05), and Hook took the opportunity to ask Flowers to pose for his camera after the charismatic singer generously replenished the veteran band's supply of Diet Coke. However, unbeknownst to Hook - who was trying to acquire a picture of Flowers for his son - the MR BRIGHTSIDE star cites New Order as one of The Killers' leading inspirations, and expressed his enthusiasm for the band by kissing the British musician. Hook says, "We were at the NME Awards, and we were seated next to The Killers. Brandon was there and he gave me a drink of Diet Coke, which was very nice of him, 'cause we had run out. "I went over to him because my son is a huge fan of theirs, and said, 'Do you mind if I get a picture 'cause my son is a huge fan?' Then he kissed me - but not with tongue - and said, 'Oh man, I am a huge fan of your music.'"

Am I the only one utterly sick of The Killers?

No Ally, you're not. I saw them here last June and managed to listen to them for a couple more months after that. Probably around Labor Day I had enough. Now they're playing here again with no new album out. I can handle "Midnight Show" now and then, but not often...

I saw them 4 times last year (they seemed to be at every show). I really like the album, but they are so over-exposed.

they're crap. don't sound like new order...sound like overrated pop rock.

I agree about them being crap. And to boost, the album doesn't even feel good to listen to. I think they need to go learn about music composition.

The singles aren't bad, but they're nothing special. I wouldn't buy the album.

Crap band. Same with the Bravery. In a Rolling Stone interview, Mr. Flowers made clear his undying love for U2, the ultimate rip off band. Bernard gives the Killers too much praise.

Barney only gives them praise because he believes all the music journo nonsense about the influence. "God-like genius" has gone to his head.

"Jenny Was a Friend of Mine" and "Midnight Show" are great

"Somebody Told Me" and "Mr. Brightside" have been destroyed by radio overplay here...and "Smile Like You Mean It" is next on the chopping block.

Oh yeah, the rest of the album is ass
