Just a quick story fellas ... went to a pantomime with about 396 family members on Frying Day. Didn't know who was in it but anyway, guess who's on the bill? ... none other than the eighties legend 'Timmy Mallet'. I fucking nearly died when I saw he was in it. Better still, he legs it up the aisle in one of the scenes and whacks me on the head with a massive mallet made of sponge! nearly knocking me out of me seat as well as an almost full carton of smarties and a medium sized coke.

Well then, I can finally die a happy man after being 'malleted' by 'Timmy Mallet', and to cap things off nicely, I took a photo of him after the show with his arms around me bird, and me neice ... and no, he wasn't behind them.

Great!

I'll put that picture next to the one I have of me stood near a fish.

T.Mallet probably used to have his name engraved on the space reserved in my gallbladder for J.Oliver. Mallet has somehow become less offensive over the years. I haven't mellowed, I know that much. Maybe it's TV exposure that fans the fires of fury ? Maybe I should switch off my TV, turn down my pulse etc ? Just as well I don't live in the US of Brady Bill, or my freedom would be somehat tenuous !!

It's reassuring to learn that Mallet has matured over the years.

In the days of his radio shows on Picadilly 261, I phoned up & requested Thieves like Us. The knob cheese just guffawed & played the Thompson Twins instead, introducing them as 'similar'!!

Another time, I won a Mallet phone-in competition for 2 Grand Master Flash tix. Dunno why I entred, didn't even like GMF. Me & my mate Phil spent a very self conscious 2 hours at The Apollo, as the only 2 kids not wearing a Sergio Tachini tracky.
