Well, I don't deny those years, unfortunatly I grew up listening to my sister's music, so all through the 80's I was listening to mainstream 
But I don't know Mel & Kim... I meants mostly Samantha Fox (who was huge in Quebec at the time), Rick Astley, Kylie in her first stage... who else..
I started listening to real music in the 90's

Well she looks better in motion that what the stills were doing for her. I know she likes to be freaky, but the hair is way out there.
I think she is pretty hot with her red hair, so I am not sure why they changed it. I don't know a lot about the scissor sisters, will people be able to tell it's her?
