I was recently at a music swap meet where a man who sold me "power, corruption and lies" on vinyl, told me that new order were coming to Australia...or was this just lies:confused2:

If you have any idea where to find this information..i've tried Warner Australia... and i would appreciate any suggestions...

Otherwise i will have to go overseas to see them which is a good excuse for a holiday!

Look at the Ceremony forum for all gig details specifically: http://www.neworderonline.com/Forums/MessageList.aspx?ThreadID=18431

andhttp://www.neworderonline.com/Forums/MessageList.aspx?ThreadID=18545

Afraid at the moment there are no Aussie gigs confirmed, but stay tuned.

(and welcome to the site:thumb: )

Good to let newbie NOOLers know about things....Warner Australia in an earlier thread(poss. moved by Spotnick up into the Ceremony Threadlist) have confirmed New Order for the BDO gigs & there's a hope among some(if not all) NSW,ACT & VIC NOOLers that there could be 1 extra show each for Syd & Melb away from the BDO circus where they'll do longer sets than they're allocated at the BDOs. If there is, I'll go there in preference to BDO. Hope that helps you out a bit.

Welcome Pempem.

Noobz!

The official word from Warner Australia is that they were in negotiations to get NO here this year but they couldn't fit us into their schedule.

There is a possibility that they will do the BDO again next year but this is by no means confirmed as yet.

We'll certainly be spreading the good word if we hear anything.

Cheers.

Looking forward to the confirmation for New Order touring in Australia. Have moved to Adelaide from UK and am obviously gutted to miss the european shows. Am getting to learn my way around town and gonna pay homage to the 20th anniversary of the band playing at Thebarton Town Hall, Adelaide which is coming up soon!

Welcome to Adelaide! Did they really play the Thebby? I know they played LeRox (defunct Adelaide club)in 87.

Did they? We always thought they only did one Adelaide gig in 87, and that was the Thebby. What date would this LeRox show have been?

The only conceivable date for that show would be Feb 15 1987, but that would've meant they played 8 shows in 8 nights. Those were the days, eh? Doesn't seem likely, but they did do two shows here in Perth which isn't dissimilar in size to Adelaide.

Man they played some unlikely venues on that tour.

Yes, and it's a pity about the first 9 tracks from the Red Parrot recording, though Canterbury Court is quite good. The mind boggles about what "Lee" had been up to the night before!

Welcome to Aus, Solitude - but Adelaide? Not a bad town, but I urge you to NOT adopt one of their footy teams. :nonono: CTB :bear:

It appears that my gig lists are a fookin' mess so apologies for any misleading info - As for footy, we did go to the Adelaide Oval on Anzac Day to see The Eagles vs Central - don't know what the hell we were watching but it was nice laying on the grass next to the Sir Donald Bradman Stand. Looking forward to the cricket season which is a few months away. BTW, We will ber supporting the Oz during the Ashes tour:laugh:

 I won't be, so that balances nicely - I can't stand most of the Aus cricketers, Gilly excepted... :topic: CTB

Welcome to Oz, and our small community of Oz posters. Adelaide's a nice place, althogh a bit hot in Summer. I have a few friends in and around there. And don't worry about AFL. I've lived here for more than 20 years and can still only barely understand that game.

Anyway its nice to see a thread called "Australian Tour" at the top of the tree, while New Order are actually touring the USA.

:D :D

By the time they finally get here they'll probably be sick of touring. By the way, Bloc Party have just announced their July Aus tour - do NOT miss them.

Boo Eagles and Central. Sturt's the team - go the mighty Double Blues.

As for New Order at Le Rox, well maybe i'm mistaken. I was too young to go but I remember wishing I was able to go to the gig that was listed as being at Le Rox. But it could well have been moved to the Thebby which is much bigger.

Funny thing is I recall hearing a tape labelled as being from Le Rox and so I always believed they played there (which is almost as funny as The Cure playing the Arkaba - which definitely happened!).

Hmmm, I bet Bloc Party won't be coming to Adelaide. That's something you'll have to get used to too :(
