Recording of The Beach that was left in my ghettoblaster. Public radio station KUNI, Bob Dorr as dj. Must have been summer 1983 or 84.
first heard of the order back in 84 when my half-sister brought Blue Monday home...
been in love ever since...
no other band could make me travel to California...or England...
Welcome!
I was a huge JD fan so the arrival of NO was no surprise. John Peel played Ceremony and In a Lonely Place on the radio before actual release so I played the tape over and over and bought 7" and 12" both on their first day of release.

I believe the induction involves drinking at least 10 pints of lager, followed by a curry / kebab (delete as appropriate) then coming on here and having a drunken rant about how good the Order are.
Bonus points are awarded for slagging Depish and mentioning that Robert Smith needs to stop looking like a bird.
A warm welcome to the pair of you from your resident wind up merchant![]()
First time I heard neworder would have been in 1983 at a school disco, I think we know which song it was![]()

1987 True Faith Video on MTV
PSB was my favorite band at that time and Neil mentioned in one of the interviews that his fav band was New Order so I was very curious to see who they are. :)
For me it began with "True Faith", too. I'm sure I heard "Blue Monday" before, but I didn't really care who that was back then (I was 11 in 1983 and had, more or less, just started being interested in music - that for my defense ...;) )

Does it HAVE to be lager? Will 5 Guinness & 5 Hennessy qualify me? With a curry AND kebab for good measure:D
Anyways . . . 1983, listening to BBC radio 1 on crappy medium wave - I'd been listening out for the next NO release since I'd read an interview with Gillian in Smash Hits in 1982 - hooked immediately
