Sorry if this has been discussed, but who else played this festival besides New Order, Talk Talk, and Depeche Mode? Also, is that the only time that New Order and Depeche Mode have played together on the same event?
I know Electronic opened for Depeche Mode at the two Dodger Stadium shows on DM's Violator Tour in '90, but that wasn't New Order. Any other gigs together for the two bands?

Ok I'm sorry. Anybody who cares please match the gigiographies of both bands and post the results here.
Ron, you're offbeam here - straightforward question that as far as I know has never been asked here before, and one to which I don't know the answer. I do know that the Order were somewhat uninspiring, and played the debut of Every Little Counts, but I don't know who else played.
Think they may have been on the same bill as DM at Roskilde once, in 1984, though probably not on the same night. I stand corrected though.

I'm a huge fan of both bands, so I was just looking for more info on the show. I know it was the last date on Depeche Mode's Black Celebration Tour, so I think it was pretty unique to see other bands like NO and Talk Talk on the bill.
Not sure if DM and NO both played Roskilde '84 either.

As I said compare the gigiographies of both bands. The New Order one is on this site. I'm sure there are a few D monde sites that list what gigs they played. BTW I don't hate the mode, I even started to listen to that singles tape I copied in the 80s.

I'll have to look into it. I was just hoping for the easy answer.
I do recall on the radio here around '93 (CFNY in Toronto) on their old nightly music news program there was a story about New Order and Depeche doing some shows together, but because of the delay in getting Republic out, the timing didn't match up. It didn't sound like the idea came from any of the bands, but rather from a North American promoter.
I don't know how true it is, I have always filed that one in the real good rumour pile.

That makes more sense really. I don't think either of them needed each other in '93 to fill a venue. Not sure that is the case here in The States though anymore.
