Good thing. The day New Order becomes an eliteist band is frankly the day I wind down my fandom. Your question reeks of snobishness i.e. mere supermarket customers are not intelligent enough to appreciate nor buy New Order's music.
We were all 'newbies' at some stage or another and boiling down your fandom to purchasing a 12" copy of Thieves Like Us in an obscure indie record store in 1984 is tedious. If some bored kid strolling through Tesco is intrigued enough by the cover of (the best of) to pick it up and maybe drop it (or nick it 
) in the trolley then that's a good thing, surely?

I didn't get that from Hac's post at all. I thought he was asking whether he should buy them?
Its been said before and no doubt it will be said again.
the (best) of New Order, an it doesnt have Ceremony or Temptation on it? Whats up with that?
I used to have them both, but they are long lost.
I seem to remember that the tracklisting was unusual. They probably didn't want to redo Substance.
I took it as:
Downside: Symbolizing a band on the downhill slide, when their stuff is available on the cheap in the supermarket. Next up, they'll be playing the county fair circuit in Podunk. 
Upside: But with really good prices on the music. I paid $21 for Rest Of. Now it's available for reasonable money.

Your post wasn't that bad - I was in a similar mood to the one you discribe, which was probably why I picked up on your comment.
