Am I the only one to think this way ? I don't know but personally, I don't want to know all of the album before I can hold the CD in my hands. Call me old-fashion but, to me, the moment I can hold a new New Order album is very special. I don't want to spoil that moment by knowing it inside out weeks before its release.
I know I will be disappointed at first, as I was with "Crystal" and surely, it will grow on me... It's part of the ritual. Anyone agrees with this

It is part of a ritual, waiting for the release date, however the temptation these days to NOT listen to new tracks is intense!
I personally havent downloaded Get Ready.... I have sneaked a listen to a few tracks, but not with any real intent( I guess its like Bill Clinton saying he didnt inhale)
Im waiting for next Monday to buy my own copy, and then i'll listen to it non stop, at home, in the car, at work...but I agree, the waiting is half of the excitement....
If I can wait 8 years, then another week wont kill me....

I could've listened to the whole album, i could've downloaded all songs, i could've purchased the promo CD, but i DID NOT ! I 've listened to the 30sec. bits here on neworderonline.com but that's enough.
Next monday will be a special day, and i will spend the whole evening listening very carefully for the album i've waited for eight very long years.
I will have several beers and i'm sure i will enjoy "GET READY".

Well, do it spoils the fun?
Not really, I was very happy to receive a promo copy of the album.. I had downloaded the songs before I got that copy.. and I was as excited as I would have been to go grap a copy...
If not better, because I had the previledge to listen to it before everybody, like most people on the internet with experience in tracking mp3s...
I don't have a good fun of "having" the CD in my hands, the fun is the music itself.. and I'm quite happy to listen to it so quickly!

I downloaded the album about a month ago and haven't stopped listening to it in my car. I couldn't wait!!! Being here in the states I would have waited until OCTOBER! No thanks!!!!!!
In my experience with this album so far I don't think it will spoil it for me. I found with Crystal that the radio edit on the single is different than the one I have dowloaded. It is exciting to hear it different, like remixed a bit even though it is the original. I know that when the day comes that I can hold the actual copy of the album in my hands and listen to the "true tracks" I will be just as excited, maybe even more.
If you hear a remix of a really good song sometimes it is better than hearing it for the first time. I think it will actually help me enjoy the real album much more...

I will shout as loud as I can to let everyone know..but I would lose my voice.. I still don't see anything wrong with listening to it early.. 2 more months is a long time to wait!
3 tracks off Technique were air'd by John Peel prior to the release of Technique in 1988... All the Way, Round and Round and Guilty Partner. When I heard Round and Round I think I was close to passing out. In that way, it was good, however...
I agree that downloading some dodgy MP3's from trawling around the internet is a bit shit, and it does spoil things as the entire album can be obtained very easily - which does spoit the game. I'm not that chuffed with reading so much about these songs when really, I wanted the surprise on Monday - it seems only a few of us still haven't heard it. The fact that more or less anyone can get this album by clicking a few buttons does make the process a bit cheap, NO shouldn't be this accessible... even to us.

I feel quite ashamed, having posted that topic in the 1rst place. Yesterday, I'v listened to the album on Spinner... But only once and not too focused, so that I had a good glimpse of it without spoiling all the fun.

I've managed to resist all temptation to download Get Ready,only 'cos my ISP keeps cutting me off.B*****DS!!!! However,as with most of you lot I'll boogie on down to my local muzak emporium. I'm on holiday next week as well.Couldn't of timed that better!!
I don't know about downloading spoiling the fun, in the good ol' days of Low Life and BrotherHood we'd have heard the entire album LIVE well before any release date! ;)
