Just how mainstream is Jetstream going to go?

Just seen the video on Chart Show TV. Had to make sure I was on the right channel, as the same transponder also carries The Vault...

It was on during the Chart Hits segment, mainstream, primetime for the still single-buying teenage girls, etc.

Its cheesy, and it has one of the Scissor Sisters in it. Its being promoted.

UK download sales now contribute to the chart - as a result, charting sales are now double what they were, and have pushed a lot of hiphop down - 98% of online music purchasers are male and most are over 25, so thats the hiphop demographic out and the NO demographic in...

Could we have a real NO #1 to make up for WIM? Even if its almost as bad...

It's hard to tell what a song like Jetstream will sound like to people not as familliar with New Order.

Well, not to blow your baloon, but they are only doing 1 gig in the UK, that won't promote the song too much...

But I think somebody must believe in the song, as I said in earlier threads, that's the only reason why the band is in the video...

Not gigging != not promoting

Not getting UK TV, you didn't see the ads for Krafty and the ads for WFTSC on the music TV channels... Warner are putting a lot of work into this, even if the band aren't

I thought they were doing three! Hyde Park, Glasto and T in the Park. Unless you referring to the amount of times NO are appearing with Ana Matronic, which according to the NME is likely to happen.

D'oh, I forgot Glastonbury ;)

Yeah, I meant England, so T In The Park is out ;)

it's getting a fair push over here on CDUK and stuff. Unfortuantely OAsis' abysmal new single is out the same day so any chance of a number one, if there was any anyway ,is probably gone

Not so sure about that Seb - Oasis have been dying a death here over the last couple of years, with most of their albums in the HMV and Virgin 'bargain bins' (along with New Order's, admittedly...)

You just need a comedy/charity/boy band single released on the same day to scupper the chances of both Oasis and New order!

If you get them off an OD-2 powered system, it'll go into the UK charts; off iTunes it won't go into any charts at all. I think

That means that MyCokeMusic MAY make it chart, but iTunes won't.

That's not correct, MYOB. Apple iTunes also count for the charts. I found a very informative article here. There's a box with the download services taking part and iTunes is one of them.

It's currently # 4 and # 5 on Amazon pre-release CD singles.

So, how do they know which country you are buying from?

Could all us NOOLers log on & download from a UK based site & get the track up the UK charts????

I think that's better than Krafty was doing at the corresponding time.

I wonder how the song is received on the Scissor Sisters world...

If you register with iTunes with an Irish credit card, your sales get registered in...

IRELAND.

Not the UK. Hence they don't count towards the charts.
