Tell Me About Republic

So, Ive not been able to find a lot of articles regarding the making of Republic, but I am curious...

I quite like republic. Some of the songs are really fantastic, especially Special and the one about Port-Royal town, as well as the singles from the album, but...

While I think Republic is a great dance album....

It doesnt really feel like a New Order album to me. It feels more like a Pet Shop Boys with Barney singing. All of the drumming just feels like loops, and while I love all of the synth work on the album, it just doesnt feel like a New Order album.

And what the hell did Hooky do ont his album?

If you guys could tell me about the maiing of this strange album, Id appreciate it.

Oh, what the hell does Hooky play on World? Ive been listeting to the studio and live versions and I cant seem to ehar him at all.

Stephen Hague was producer for the Pet Shop Boys at the same time, so it is his handwriting.

Reminds me if Electronic worked with Hague with a few touches of Hooky.

Mind it's ages better than Get Ready.

regret aside...get ready is better by far

It's nowhere near as bad as it's sometimes made out to be. As far as I'm concerned, it's as good as anything else the band have done.

What? Regret, Everyone Everywhere and Special maybe, but compared to say, TPK, Sunrise, Sooner than you think and TTON? Come on!
