I just had to say something.
I had never heard a New Order song before I listened to "Get Ready" yesterday and all I have to say about it is...HOLY SH*T! I love it!
This album is really amazing and so refreshing, especially since the music scene has been sucking for a while.
The reason I decided to check out New Order was that I listen to The Tea Party and I know they're into Joy Division and I know Joy Division has something to do with New Order and I like to check new stuff out all the time...which means I have to check out Joy Division because I barely know anything of theirs...

loved get ready when it came out and still do today,if any new order album proves their worth its this one. it proves once and for all that they are continually evolving and trying new stuff. ok they dont always pull it off,but so what? when they do get it right MAN do they get it right. as someone in ere has pointed out wftsc is an evolution of get ready and again whilst some of the tracks may not click so to speak, the one that do really hit home (cant be arsed naming them ect). but you see,being a looooong time fan ive known this for many years as in all honesty every album they have made has its bright and dull spots.
Surpisingly, i dont really like crystal. It is not easy my ears and is way too long. One of the only instance, where i dont like a long epic new order song.

Not least the fact that it comes at such a central point in the album and as a result has such a devastatingly bad impact on the album as a whole.

Our favorites on that album are pretty different, Jonathan. My favorites are Crystal, Turn My Way, and Close Range. VS and RTS are OK.
I know a lot of people like PN but it really doesn't do anything for me.

I'm glad to hear you like Close Range, M. As I've said many times, I think the line that the grass looked ten foot high is the emotional climax of the album.
I'm sure you know Big is a big fan of Run Wild.
It may have been said, but GR has Rock the Shack on it. Surely one of the worst new order songs ever. So that might just be the reason why many people slate the album.
I personally love it.
Run Wild is a decent pop song, kinda romantic especially "you're the kind of person that I've always wanted to be with ..." part. The problem with me is that I'm more into "Barney -pissed off" lyrics, if you know what I mean ... :D
SLY is the only track I don't really like on GR. Even grew to love Rock the Shack after a while...
As for WFTSC, don't much care for Guilt or Working Overtime, but all the others are great in their own very special way...

I personally love it.
It also has Slow Jam. Not only that, it has RTS right after Slow Jam.
I personally like RTS, but the one-two punch of Slow Jam followed by RTS is a fatal blow.
