Oasis are number one, this says all about the regression of taste in the British audience (and to think once they were at the frontier of innovation). Still, it's useless to say we don't care, this wasn't some sort of alternative single made for the sake of it and if anyone likes it that's a bonus. It was a major pop single with lots of promotion behind and a special guest. Let's face it, it's disappointing, especially for the band and the label, and let's hope the third single doesn't get deleted. It's not extremely bad, it's still Top 20, average for New Order's second single, especially with no B sides. But it's very below the expectations, though it had to face hard competition, if it was released on a normal week I'm sure it would have been in the Top 15. It's also good it lost just one place from the midweek chart, this means not only hardcore fans bought it...

I think the chart position reflects the fact that it is the biggest pile of shit ever to have come from the band. Especially with songs of the quality of WFTSC,Turn and Whos Joe. Hope it teaches them a lesson that dont try to please new fans but please the ones that they already have. As for the live gigs they could always replce it with Procession.

I see Radio 1 didnt even playlist it just like they didnt for Krafty.I sometimes think if any other band had released Krafty it would of got playlisted.New Order should release a single under a different name then we`ll see if Radio 1 playlist it.

To be honest, New Order and/or their record company have totally pissed away the chance to have a hit with the fine title track as a single now simply because how often does the THIRD single from a New order album make the top 20 - let alone the top 10? (World Price Of Love is the only fluke example that is the exception to this rule) - and remember, there WAS no proper third single from GR cos Here To Stay was already lined up to follow 60MPH but that was tied to the 24HPP film so it still scraped into the top 20 however. Serves them bloody well right anyway.

Good point! If Chemical Brothers released Here To Stay (and not bother crediting New Order on it - remember how Out Of Control fared when Bernard was "featured" on vocals), it would have stormed the top 5 no problem! Look at how they (The Chems) are still selling singles by the truckload now - Galvanize I noticed has been hanging around the bottom of the top 70 for something like 3 months now - how come?

That's correct - they will scrap the plans to release WFTSC as the next single and instead put out a rerecorded version of "Told You So" featuring guest vocals from Flavor Flav and Dido - with remixes by Sly'n'Robbie, the Big Bruvvaz, The Streets and 50 Cent - and simply stand back and watch as their entire career goes up in flames - never to be salvaged again!
