New order to release Very short DVD

Having just listened to the NYC show, I am so happy. Clearly someone from Warner said "is their any chance you could act like a real band in front of an audience tonight, we've got the crew hear taping for DVD",DOH! maybe they didn't swear enough or threaten violence, but it seems all they have done is make Barney regress to about 1985.

By the time they cut the songs they made a balls of, and the songs they sabotaged, and about 97% of everything Barney says(if you get the boot, ignore the songs, skip to the ends, trust me).....they will have a DVD that is legal and worthwile to release. It will be about 12 mins long. They'll also have to edit applause in over all the "huh?" moments from the crowd, maybe they need that old emulator disc they were alleged to have had a huge crowd sample on. (does anyone know if that is really true, and can u cite an example of it's use, I've heard some suspiciously large cheers in small venues, but wouldn't like to say for sure)

Oh and while the boot is hardly perfect, it's very good, and I must say it seems there are fundamental problems on stage, notably the terrible etup of the vocal mics, there's a lot you can fix in the mix, but a singer with his mouth 4 inches from a mic whose pattern closes in at 3 inches aint fixable. Whatever happened to doing a feedback kill on the monistors and whanging the mic up V loud, then limiting the max output so that barney's whoops and whistles are controlled AND you can hear him when hi turns his head. Odd, for all their onstage stupidity, thet's not something I've really heard before....dodgy engineering. BTW, are the regulations governing sound rigs in the states strict? They seem to be tighening here, based on the fact that I suffered no spinal damage the last 2 times I seen The Orb.

Ah, you misundertstand my friend, you cannot hear that, I heard it in my head. Whenyou hear the gig you'll see why, there are moments when Barney says things that are SO out of character, you would SWEAR they were on his idiot-box, pure "normal band" pish and drivel......but then 2secs later reverts to type and says cunt and equally lovely things.

The boot of the gig from which 5:11 is taken is totally hilarious, this proves to be the same, but the amount of screwups and absolutely deliberate sabotage means it's gonna take a genius of an editor to get more than 4 tracks off it. Can't wait to see the dvd, if indeed this IS the show they were taping ( barney does mention cameras at one point).

Twas the use of the word Clearly that fooled you, you took it to mean "clearly audible" when in fact I meant "based on the behaviour of 4 twats we know and love, it is clear that..."

Hmmm...what to do with 12 minutes of live footage...

You know, when they released Primal Scream's Evil Heat here in the States, they included a DVD with a couple of videos and 22 minutes or so of concert footage.

How about a 2006 album with bonus live DVD?

I say we start a campaign for "Hammerstein Uncut", so all the new fans can see them in their full glory, not a sanitized version (like 5:11), cos as I say, if they try to sanatize THIS gig, most of it will end up on the cutting room floor ( oooooops showing my age, I mean in the bit bucket of course).

The stuff he says about Ian, LOL I think Ian would approve, but I can't see the brass at Warners going for it :)

Also worth mentioning that Hooky seems very happy in his roll as Norse God of Bass, and plays the wise old bearded one well, apart from insisting on singing certain bits in a REALLY silly voice. Oh and the Phil-in is starting to act like a menber of new order judging by some of his synth crimes.....and glories!. But let us not review the gig on this, not-for-the-reviewing-of-gigs forum, I just wanted to mention, that there's not a bloody chance most of this is usable.
