Honestly

If the next album is the same quality as this one, will you be pleased or disappointed?

Pleased

This album brought us two oustanding tracks, a host of really good ones, a couple with great remixes, and a couple of dodgy ones. Not to be sniffed at.

if the new album is at least close to this one, will turn New Order to be my favorite artist of all times. so, of course i will be mega happy.

Didn't they leave the more Neworderish sounding songs off Sirens (according to Hooky). If so then we can expect something quite special.

I'd be pleased, even if they never had two consecutive albums that sound anything alike before. I'd be please with anything besides another compilation.

If the next album gets released I'll be pleased, thats all it takes - I know I will love most of it - because its NO I know over the years they have come out with the odd track which didn't float me boat, BUT I'v been an avid fan now for over 20 years - so I know that what they produce works for me - always

If the next album is one third as good as this it'll be as good as Get Ready, which was already great, so I'll be VERY pleased. Getting another album as good as WFTSC would be a dream, for me it would mean another album in the league of PC&L and Technique... I don't know to expect since it all depends on how many of the "outtakes" from the original single album that were meant to be B sides already appear on WFTSC or will appear on the next one. But this could be not so important as we've seen with Get Ready they can release their best songs as B sides (Player In The League is still their best song since Vanishing Point!). It would be interesting, anyway, to guess which were the original album tracks and which were going to be used as B sides... for example it's obvious the title track and Krafty were always meant as not only album tracks, but singles as well, while I could see tracks like Dracula's Castle being B sides... Working Overtime is a mistery, it's only good enough to be a B side, it's out of place in the album, and yet they even thought about releasing it as a single!

although i'm reluctant to admit it, WFTSC just doesn't do it for me. i loved get ready because it had energy. too many songs on the new album just pass me by without ever making an impression.

having said that - i would never admit this to anyone except you lot.

I wouldn't mind if the album was pretty much the same as WFTSC qulity wise, I would definately prefer more of the classic NO sound though.

Any New Order release is always something to look forward to. Been a bit mystified with all this talk about them trying to get away from the New Order Sound - I'd be delighted to hear them go for a JOY DIVISION SOUND. It would complete the circle and be totally unique in modern pop / rock music. It would be a great way to finish their careers.

*Not at all. Barney thinks Who's Joe sounds like Days Of The Lords (hence the working title, Lordsy), so this is how New Order would sound if they tried to sound like Joy Division. Anyway it would be impossible as the most of the Joy Division sound was created by Martin Hannett, who's dead. Joy Division didn't even like everything he did, so we should remember those albums are not only Joy Division, they're actually the result of Joy Division's music recorded by Martin Hannett, which is different. And by the way I would find offending to ask Bernard to forget 25 years of the most amazing evolution in music history and pretend to compose music as if he was 25 years old and nothing happened meanwhile... They can make a darker rock album, a bit like parts of Get Ready, or even darker, but it won't ever be Joy Division again, and rightly so.

I want more quality tracks like Turn, HNWYD and Working Overtime. Please spare me another Guilt or ITYS and I'd be very fooking pleased. :D

I'll be pleased, but hopefully it won't take as long to grow on me as the latest one did.

To be quite brutally honest - I'm really don't have too much hope for the next album as I think it is gonna sound exactly the same as WFTSC - it was recorded around the same time, in the same studios, the same personnel, the same equipment, the same atmospheres, politics the - list is endless - the same everything. I hope I'm wrong but I doubt it...

I sort of hope the next one is a little different in two respects.

1. I would like a more electronic feel, I kinda miss tunes with basic but brilliant electronic parts melding into a great wall of noise, with all the electric instruments falling into place. Given that NO have always had a great feel for how an album goes and flows together, it's entirely possibe the next one will have a markedly different feel from WFTSC despite coming from the same sessions....AND if they had ANY sense, they will have left them unmixed and be able to back and do that with freesh ears and all the experience with touring the WFTSC tunes. The only concern I have is that we are not hearing them on this tour. This could be for two reasons, either the remaining tracks really are just the woodshavings from WFTSC (bad) or Warner's are telling them not to do it (much worse), I mean what IS the record for live performance to record....."Let's go" @ 17 years or so?

2. the last two NO albums, despite containing some wonderful music, are the only two that have tracks I dislike and would skip, only one or two, but that does spoil a 23 year-ish perfect score. So I'd like my 70ish mins of genius straight this time please, no ice, no soda, no water, no lemon, no F*ing 60 MPH! I would consider this to be an outrageuous demand to make except that they have proven more than capable of doing it over and over again.

Bring it on....I'm looking very forward to it..that and at least least some Aussie gigs in the same year!!!!
