It seems obvious to me when I listen to songs like Vanishing Point that Bernard has lost a lot of his poetic side... but again, which album do you think has the best lyrics overall? 
Seems to me many Electronic albums have good lyrics, so what happened there?!
ordered lyrically:
WFTSC Technique (in a dead heat for first) Republic (sure i'll be alone in this) Low Life PCL Brotherhood Movement
I might have PCL and Brotherhood the wrong way round but they're both typically brilliant and ridiculous.
The more miserable Bernard is, the more inspired the lyrics become. It's a toss up between "Technique" and "Republic". Hmmm... I pick "Republic" then.

Best to worst lyrics
Republic Technique Power Corruption and Lies Low Life Brotherhood Movement Waiting for the Sirens' Call Get Ready
Technique-Both the lyrics and Sumners delivery are fantastic, with Mr. Disco he takes the piss but is still sincere, the best by far.
Low-Life-Angsty but still helpful, probably has the most abstract lyrics,
Republic-Very underrated in terms of lyrics, look at Regret, Ruined In A Day, Liar, and Times Change
Brotherhood- I really can't remmeber much of this except BLT and All Day Long, which has a real sincereity to it, simply but affective, a bit underrrated.
Waiting For The Sirens Call-Again only the title track, which has some of Barnies best lyrics.
Power, Corruption And Lies-OK but this album seems more abour the music
Get Ready-Nothing too outstading here
Movement-I can't remember a single memorable lyric here, I still like it though.
David Byrne once said he, like himself prefered singers with bad voices because they were easier to believe, I think this is definately the case with Barney, who else could make 'I've never met anyone quite like you before" so well? His voice is weak so his lyrics shine though, it seems wierd, hard to explain but I know what I mean, hope others do too.

I reckon New Order are best especially lyrically when Barney is depressed, Movement (Obvious reasons), Lowlife (General Angst) Technique (Breakup of Barney's marriage) Republic (End of factory)
Low-life. I mean, "Well, we had a party in our hotel last night, it ended up in an awful fight." Rhyming "night" with "fight"? That's Godlike Genius shit right there, folks.

TECHNIQUE. Great stuff. I love every track's lyrics, albeit Mr Disco's and Fine Time's in a more humorous way.
Generally, P,C&L is more consistent, but Run Wild, Slow Jam, WFTSC and Turn highlight a more melancholic, yet life affirming Barney.

It has to be Technique
had to go for technique as an album, but for an indevidual line "thinkinf of the joy you bring, when you do that thing" is fantastic.
My favorites from each album:
MOVEMENT - Dreams Never End. Great lyrics. "A nervous bride for your eyes, a fractured smile that soon dies" is one of my favorite NO lines.
PC&L - 5 8 6. Leave Me Alone and YSF have great lyrics too, but I'm really a big fan of 5 8 6's. They capture a kind of angry ambivalence toward a lover extremely well, I think.
LOW-LIFE - This Time of Night. Good ole' angst that can be a nice indulgence occasionally. This was a tough call, though. I am actually a big fan of Face Up's lyrics, as well as Sunrise's. The best NO line is "Tonight I should have stayed at home, playing with my pleasure zone," but with the last verse taken out, TPK just isn't as good.
BROTHERHOOD - BLT. I also love Every Little Counts' (I am a big fan of that song, sorry), but BLT's lyrics are infectious and even poignant.
TECHNIQUE - This is incredibly tough. I love every song's lyrics. Fine Time's are hysterical, All the Way's are moving and Dream Attack's are romantic. But I have to give my final vote to Round & Round for its boldness and sass.
REPUBLIC - Regret, without a doubt. Probably my favorite NO song, with superb lyrics that capture such joy and such sorrow at once. What a beast, as they say.
GET READY - Crystal. They get to the point and pack a punch. I love the lines "I'm a man in a rage with a girl I betrayed" and "I don't know what to say, you don't care anyway". Pure pop. What a zinger!
WFTSC - WFTSC. Beautiful, romantic and very sincere. "What do I have to do just to make you see you're so good for a man like me" is brilliant when it finally comes. Incredible.
Of course, many of the non-album singles have great lyrics, too. I'm a big fan of TBTHOG's and True Faith's. My favorite has got to be BM, though. So cold, numb and oblique. Great stuff.
