Having read through all the posts begging for NO to release WFTSC or Turn as their next single, I feel I have to speak up in favour of my favourite track on the album, and my favourite NO track in years - Draculas Castle.

This is an awesome track, bristling with energy and with Hooky's best bassline in aeons. The majestic opening and closing with the piano is a magic touch which contrasts to the raw power and energy of the song itself. A perfect opening, and a perfect closing. In many ways this track reminds me of another of my fave NO songs - "Guilty Partner" from Technique.

WFTSC and Turn are both excellent songs, but they are songs which appeal to those of us of a certain age. Draculas Castle prove that NO still have the power to capture the raw raucous energy of youth. A remixed version of this song could easily make the top 10, no probs. It confounds me that NO always leave their very best (and very marketable) songs on the albums, and release trash like Jetstream instead. Come on guys, remix this classic tune, and get it out! :music:

A lot of people on this board don't like it, and while I do, it is unlikely to enthrall someone listening to it on the radio in my opinion.

I agree about the piano part. Although it's not my favorite track, it's still pretty good.

Dracula kicks ass. Those who say they loathe it, they probably say it probably because of the lame title and it's not even lame imo. Call it Minidisc if you like (or what was its original name anyway? ), it's still ace! :thumb:

there were so many threads for Dracula's Castle until today. That means that is the most remarkable tune fron WFTSC album! Dracula's Castle contains all New Order's trademarks. For me is the most complete song of the album - love it.

I am on the side of Dracula's Castle is not very good.

In my opinion it would be the worst choice of single since Spooky.

Feel free to disagree:D

Ok then Shug :evil4:

I think this is an excellent track :thumb:

I think Bizarre Love Trapozoid is on my side on this one :D

I like Spooky, and I especially like the remixes. Not very commercial though.

After 3 or 4 times playing it I loved "Dracula's castle". It was not love on the first tone... ;)

Dracula's Castle for me, is by far the best song of the album, followed by Turn and Who's Joe. Worst one is Jetsream, but its too late now i guess  Anyways, WFTSC isnt bad and besides, its not too important which one is a single and which isnt...

Just cos I'm bored shitless at work, I'll keep this going:D

Fuck knows how many times I've played the album, used to have it on twice a day for the 2 months before it was released and the album's still on me playlist.

For me it's the weakest track on the album, it was the first time I played it and still is now. Don't get me wrong, it's not that bad considering we have had the odd track on an album that beats yer imagination as to why it's there (Chemical being a prime example)

It would be a piss poor single, not that it will matter, cos I can't see the next single doing much if we go by the history of the charts. Unless of course they release Turn :spit:

have to admit that i really like this song in spite of the crap lyrics.

DC = Piss Poor Single

Better tracks on the lp. And why should there be a single for every damn song?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again...

This song could be called Ode to Jeff, and it's still pants!!!

DC is fair enough for the album, but not for general public consumption. Though Turn is my favorite, I'd say release one more single and be done with it until the next album.

Oh, and that single should be Waiting For The Sirens' Call.

Please dont assume. I actually quite like the title. I wouldnt say i dont like the song, however nothing impresses me about it. Not the piano, bassline, or lyrics. It justs seems generic.

Reminds me of "All The Way" for some readon.

And I fcuking hate that song.

New Order by numbers, alas.

Couldnae disagree more, maybe it's cos yer old :uhoh: All The Way is absolute magic from the opening bars through the lyrics and *ahem* all the way to the end! To me Dracula's Castle can definitely be described as Neworder by No's

The title track and Guilt are probably the more likely candidates for a single. You can make a case for Turn too I guess. I love Dracula's Castle but if it wasn't the 2nd single it won't be a single at all probably. In fact, if they haven't already, I doubt it will get played live.

Cheeky whippersnapper. :baby:

I presume All The Way is supposed to be the hard-as-nails 'raaack' song on Technique?!

Compare it to the likes of Sunrise or Age of Consent on previous offerings.

They'd kick its sorry arse into tomorrow, and then some. :blackeye:

It's soft as shite.

Second best song on Technique, IMO, behind Dream Attack.

Jarvo is yer stereotypical new order fan, he has a skinhead and is renowned for being a football hooligan. He pretends he likes the "rockier" tracks, but we all know he prefers Technique really.....but he has to protect his image:D

Whereas you're just a winsome wee fcuker so prefer the girlier numbers so that you dinnae get crushed down the front by anyone bigger than you.

ie. anyone over 5ft5 and 8st.

Not bad ya big get. But, if you like this album with songs such as WFTSC, Turn, Road To Ruin, surely you would like Technique. The vibe's not too far away.

Trying to get this back on topic......Are we agreed that Dracula's Castle is keich? :evil4:

Indeed, I like this album but ain't convinced it stands up very well in the live arena. Just like Technique. Have got the impression this year that the new stuff is just 'fillers' between their genuine classics. WFTSC is easily the best thing they're playing live off the album but Hooky's ruined it every single time for me: coming in like an unwelcome bulldozer going through your living room wall.

But, agreed, DC is gash. And I still don't like All The Way either, sorry.

 Glad we agree in a roundabout way. As for best live song from the album.....Road To Ruin:thumb:

Right, it's nearly 5 I'm affski.
