I know some of the best bastions of neworderhood are in Texas, Florida, and Colorado

And Idaho is quite the hotbed, as well. At least it was my junior year in high school.

This map is inacurate... Jesusland is also located in the center of Canada as well... beside British Columbia, all the western Canada is pretty much like the US one...

Just like all Brits hate to be lumped into the 'English' stereotype (i.e. Bath, Leeds, London are SO different), us Americans get pissed when we get lumped together.

Bit of a struggle with beer over there?:D

Dracula's Castle is in my top 3 from Sirens, along with Hey Now and Turn.

That's funny, I've seen a lot more jesus fish on cars when I lived in Los Angeles than I have since I've lived in Dallas.

  1. The maps - Yeah, they're kinda clever, but, speaking as a real live Jesuslander and proud American, let me assure you I just finished working with a team comprising Craig, Roberto, Kinslow, Ahmed, Habib, Tarshish, Mantalvo, Nigrelli, and Henry, all of whom are working here 'cause they're bright and motivated and had the opportunity. I realize America looks different from a distance, but it's a kickass place to live, honest.

Wow, well said. I enjoyed the map because it funny laughing about stereotypes. We also have to realize thats this country is being taken over by christian fundtalism politicans, and organizations. But I also have faith that the country will see a backlash against this in the near future. I refuse to let these cowards to speak for me, and given time america will reject religious fanaticism like they always have.

I am an equally proud and shameful american. Being from polish descent, I appreciate the opportunties that america has given us. I appreciate the ideals this country was born from. It is scary that seperation of church/state is in jeopardy. This is in my mind the most important principle of the american constitution. The iraqi war is of course shameful. Hopefully, over time the public will reject this war just like the vietnam war. There are signs of this already. I guess it should of happen already.

So call me a conflicted american. I hope this was coherent.

Conflictd yank yer arse....yer a proper American, and more power to you. Last time I looked you lot were meant to be all about thinking for yourselves and stuff. Good to see some of you live it instead of just believing it. Questioning the actions of your Govt. is not only a right but a responsibility of any citizen in a democracy, whatever a bunch of people who think the Earth is 6000 years old would have to say: "Obey OBEY OOOOOBEYYYYY!!!!!!!!" (sure I heard that somewhere before, ah yeah....what was it you called them.....shortish chaps...lights on their heads, plungers out the front, fond of exterminating...oh you know who I mean.....the.....the thingies)[1]

As for yer country being taken over by the stupid....the best thing I ever seen was Penn and Teller doing a show about them banning science in schools so they can teach fairy tales instead. The "vote for whether the rabbit is alive or dead" experiment on what bearing democracy has on reality, ie if you vote that Darwin is wrong it's means he is. Likewise I loko forward to Newton and Galleileo being removed from the sylabus and watching lots of fundamentalists going for a walk between two tall buildings, now that there are no more nasty non-biblical laws to make them fall.

It's all too easy to end up at red alert around ameicans these days....your less than intelligent countrymen have blazed a path for you on every forum and every newsgroup, going ballistic at the merest hint that US streets are not oaved with gold, that bush is not Jesus, or that maybe just MAYBE, ppl should have listened to the CIA about Iraq.

Oh and when I was in the US the oddest thing was that every person I met, I either got on like a house on fire with them, or couldn't stand to be near them. No middle ground at all, doubly odd since it's such a diverse country.

[1]anyone who dares to helpfully offer me the answer, wins the oscar for "best confused american at a new order event" kinda sorry I started slabberin at u now :(

  1. Dracula's Castle - Shit, even 50 Cent can come up with an alternate line or two so his tracks can get airplay ("What, MTV won't play, 'I got the X if you into takin' drugs?' How 'bout, 'I got whatcha need if you need to feel a buzz?'") Since 1930, Dracula = Cheese. (I do like the idea of gluing a Dracula's Castle flexi-disc to the back of Count Chocula boxes, though.)

Well put Gnu Odor. Don't believe all the liberal crap you read or watch on your television "news." Come here and check it out yourself. It rocks- and I have been all over the world, even to "commie" land and "Yurop."

Until 2 weeks ago, I wondered "why are so many yanks atni-liberal, surely liberal is just "pertaining to liberty"".

Then I saw this show (P+T again actually..I trust em cos they take stuff I like apart too)about "liberals" taking over on uni campusses, and basicaly supressing EVERYTHING even slightly controversial....and the ringleader was this black guy....actually chuffin mental...thought everyone was in the clan and made a point of talkin like a slave...never seen such a racist in my life...I just couldn't work out if he hated us crackers or his own folk more.

So I guess I understand a little better now. Doesn't matter which direction you head off in left or right....you go far enough you end up being a fucking arsehole.

This is true. I work at a university and "reverse" racism runs rampant. It is OK for any "minority" to call me every facist name in the book as I was born caucasion so therefore I am responsible for their ancestors plight yada yada, but if a conservative speaker attempts to excercise his/her right to free speech on campus, well violence and spewing hatred at that person is just perfectly acceptable. Total crap. IMO, many university professors just can't resist shoving there own liberal agenda down the throats of a captive audience instead of just teaching the freakin' math class they are assigned to teach. Oh well, there's my rant.

Like Dracula's Castle, but definitely not my favorite. Prefer Turn and Who's Joe :D

Thanks for the kind words, folks. It's tres chic to be anti-American these days, but shucks, I love my country and I'm not ashamed to say it.

And if you don't like it you can suck my red, white and blue do-rag.

And even with Hooky, Dracula's Castle sounds like it belongs on Twisted Tenderness rather than a New Order record. It's got that Johnny Marr guitar riff and Barney's Big Fat Synth Chords (TM).

And I just got a 677 on the Europa geography quiz so you can all blow me.

Yes well let's hope you all have a country....and there's anyone left speakin to you from the rest of us, by the time curious george is finished.

It's odd, I'm usually first in line to get tore into any passing American dickhead.....and the main reason for it is that they are American. Does that make me racist...well you could say that except,it only annoys me cos I think of the clever way your Govt. is set up, and about all that place stands for....and then realise that there are considrable numbers of y'all that don;t deserve it due to them being totalitarian shitebags. i gotta keep remembering, this is New Order forum, so anyone here from any country, is unlikely to be a COMPLETE dickhead ( cept me) :)

Anyway, good luck thru the next few years, hope you still have a nice country full of nice people when this cloud finally passes.

And FFS....think of a better name than "liberal"...the rest of us think yer talking about people who thinks it's cool to smoke pot...not baby dictators. Might I suggest the old UK term for left wing politics taken so far it seem decidedly right wing....."the looney left"
