This seems to be the only place to put this post about the fact that American Movie Classics showed the Ramones "Rock And Roll High School" last night. Don't know if they show 'rock' movies on Friday nights (a couple of weeks ago, they showed the Village People's "Can't Stop The Music", and I hardly consider THAT a classic), but it was worth it to watch the host talk about the band in the soft tones that they usually reserve for Hitchcock, Ford, Welles, etc.
Of course, RNRH is a cheesy movie itself, but its sole redeeming feature is the fact that the Ramones are in it.

I've been listening to the Ramones a lot actually (I only have the Ramonesmania put out in the early 90s, but there are some fantastic tracks on there).
One of my cousins (not the one at the radio station but his twin brother) has a girlfriend who's petrified of Joey Ramone, ever since she apparently had a dream about him singing to her while she was in bed. That always makes me laugh because I think there's a scene where the Ramones are preforming in a girl's bedroom.
I'll never forget seeing the Ramones live - absolutely different class. Thirty songs in an hour and a great atmosphere.
well, at least we made someones list of important bands...although we should be much higher, but i'll take the recognition any day...
