Yeah, I read it - quite amusing - had to laugh when he was talking about how he had to paint his spare room on his weekends off! What a man!

Great! I thought. A new band to check out. New Order have turned me on to great bands in the past, Velvet Underground, Kraftwerk, Roxy Music, and this really good old band called the Rolling Stones.

So I check out the Girls Aloud website and think there must be some mistake. They look like a porn star convention, not a band. Is Hook fu**ing serious?!

a) isn't hooky a bit older than bono (not by much) and, b) wouldn't that be the early '70s when they lived in different countries?

also, hooky isn't 60! must be a typo.

Apparently U2 came down to Manchester and visited JD while they were recording Closer. This would have been the same year U2 released their debut album, so maybe they were on tour and somehow were able to drop by. I can't recall where I read that, but it may have been in the new "Armchair" New Order guide....

I think it is "when u2 were 16"

makes more sense....

or more likely, just an expression.... i.e. 'when we were kids' i.e. under 25....
