Think ive joined this one a bit late, but referring to the Sheffield bashing, f**king hell, its not that bad. Dont get me wrong, ive only lived there for 12 months so im not getting all offended and defensive, just curious as to why this opinion exists. Maybe ive been lucky but it seems fine to me. Ok so parts of it aint that pretty but which big cities are? Much worse places in the country! Now Doncaster, on the other hand....If it got hit by a nuke it would probably do £10 worth of damage.

Joining two parts of the same thread together there was a Leeds band 20 years ago called Dawn Chorus and the Blue Tits, one of whom was Carol Vorderman (another was Liz Kershaw). They released a cover of Teenage Kicks.

i have a low opinion of all of south yorkshire i'm afraid, been from west Yorkshire its been drilled into me by my parents since i was a lad that only west yorkshire counts in the whole of yorkshire,but i will say South yorkshire/sheffield/doncaster are nothing compared to the hell hole that is HULL and east Yorkshire/Humberside.

i think i'm gonna go wash my mouth out with soap for saying that dirty word that is Hull!

Yeah youre not kidding. I was in in Goole just after Christmas in the snow, by the docks. Is there any industry there that isnt shipping/pub/tattoo parlours?
