Picked up the following comments off the Hard-Fi message Board. Hard-Fi played in one of the tents at Hyde Park thesame night as NO, so looks like some of thgeir younger fan base trooped across the Park in the rain only to be under impressed....

Comment 1:

Had all sorts of technical problems, played songs out of sequence, just a bit shambolic. I was close to the front first off then two knuckledragging old cunts barged through from nowhere and started moshing. I escaped after three tracks and heard people in the crowd shouting to play some Oasis so they're getting the same 'Manchusturrrr' crowd, by the looks of it. The live recording off XFM sounds better but I think they're just past it, sadly.

and comment 2...

New Order were pish. They played three songs off their excellent new album versus five old Joy Division tracks - think that shows which part of their audience they're aiming at ie backwards not forwards. Combined with the technical probs, and a mosh pit of 40-year old chavs it left a sour taste.

Apart from that tho ?

They're the most exciting up and coming band in the UK at the moment.

New single 'Hard to Beat' went top-10 this week and their album 'Stars of CCTV', out next week, will be massive. Seen them twice in the last fortnight, got goosebumps.

How much should we care about the opinions of self confessed soft southern cunts, on the record company fastrack to the top 40?

Great fucking christ....moshin at a punk gig....the shock.

(I dare anyone to say you can't be punk if you have synths, go on....try me, I'm in just the mood for a fight with some whining newfuck who thinks New Order should behave all nice like westlife, stinkin fart and all the other boybands.)

^^^^^^ can u tell who's waiting on the painkillers kickin in?.....talk to me in 3 hours and I'll be all peace and love :) (but I'll still stomp the nearest trendy triv into the dirt 3 bars into temptation)

sounds like you've had a bad day...

saw big posters advertising hard fi as 'the most exciting new band in Britain' on the district line not half hour ago and wondered who the hell they were...

Quite like this latest Hard -Fi single.Don`t fancy their fans chances of a lively moshin good time future ahead though.

But what do Rilo Kiley sound like?.A lot of people in The Audley were goin on about how good they were and the only other band that were a must see last Friday.

not too bad, just got engrossed in something, wasn't feeling sore, didn;t take sore pills, then realised I needed them ( and they take SO long to work). And had my linux box pull a "dave I can't let you do that" stunt on me earlier, and it alwys upsets me when i have to shout at it :)

And I've had it to the back teeth with people round here who are labouring under some monsterous delusions that New Order are some kind of proper band. They way I see it, if the ticket said "new order" I'd feel cheated if they didn't screw it all up, insult everyone and incite a riot :) It's what they do. Folk won't don't like it can go see slipknot or some other totally natural and unhyped band like that :)

not that that is aimed at anyone on this thread cept maybe the non existant person inside the ""'s in the first post......but venting is good :)

oh yeah....my GF....who hates NO, and rather likes coldplay on Glasto ,,,,"errrr why were coldplay on after NO, I thought the point was to build to a climax"......the grasshopper learns well.

Just like the reaction to NO from a number of people who posted on the Coachella board, from what I remember reading. Ah well, I don't recall being overly impressed by many of the younger acts playing there, so I guess both sides will agree to disagree on this issue.

Basically from what I can tell, they're slagging NO for something that we all love them for. And as for "looking back not forwords"...they're reaching fifty, who knows how many good years they've got left (though judging by WFTSC they certainly have a few), they might as well get out the word on their back catalogue. I'd love to see what "remember the '00s?" tour this Hard-Fi band are playing in a few years...kinda like a Loverboy/Winger double bill these days, eh? :evil4:

I never see new order live in person, but I own the Finsbury Park DVD, and I think thats a great show. I really like Hard-Fi, there incredible really. those people just have no taste, thats all. Now what do you think Hard-Fi thinks of New Order?

To be honest, I've never heard of Hi-Fi, but given the chance I'll check them out, just like i checked out Kasabian after everyone was ranting about them - and they were shit, irritating and uninspiring.

as one of the people praising rilo kiley (why was their set so short? why?) they are gorgeous melodies with a female vocalist with a great voice & a gutter mouth.

more adventurous, their latest album, is a v good introduction - or check out either of the singles off of it - "portions for foxes" or "it's a hit"

Man, you have to be there (and preferbly in the UK) to see them fuck it up properly! Live DVDs are ok but they cannot convey the sheer frisson of seeing them fuck up intros, drift out of key, forget the lyrics and generally make a pig's ear out of something but that's why we love them! As I've said before, they're brilliant and terrible live - something most bands just can't match.

Who gives two turds what Hard-Fi/next big thing/five minute wonder/latest hype vehicle's fairweather fans think? The thing these Hard-Fi dickheads don't understand is the terrible/brilliant thing and that New Order have had a huge influence on most modern music. Hard-Fi will be lucky to have a meaningfull career five years from now. Come back and hassle us when your pimply pretenders have been at it for nearly thirty years and then we might take you seriously! OTHERWISE JUST FUCK OFF!

Ps If you can't hack it in the moshpit, don't go in there! We thirty and fortysomethings have a good deal more experience of it!
