Ok, today is the day they said they'd announce the winner of the U-Myx Jetstream (yes another friggen Jetstream thread) contest. So who won and where is the announcement?

Sorry to hear it still crashes when on your hard drive- thats pretty strange... Do you have a really old computer??

Crashes everytime here too, even from the hard drive. Never been able to go through the end of my mix.

Is the whole thing a big fraud? Who won this f... contest? Did they speak of July 4th in 2006?

I tried to download your (2?) mixes but they wouldnt load - like most of them But anyway - looks like there were around 130 mixes from around 50 people - so we both have a good chance of winning plus, the ones I could download (around 20 of them) are nowhere near as good as my own

Any arguements?

Out of the ones I could download, i liked "LV jet mix_Lionel" the most. Very clever!

When I load that one it lists as 'essais 2' by Spot - I presume thats the same one? Anyway, i like it too the dropout for the vox on the bridge & the guitar in the break work very well but the breakdown voices let it down. Lee's BLUE FAITH mix obviously started with my DUBstream mix Simon's Chief mix is OK but I hate the breathy bits in Ana's vox - which puts me off it & some of the guitar bits dont fit right Bere's sorrymix is good - i like the drum free idea - but the vocal-only middle part shows up how badly cut&pasted the vox are Dave Waters Dropout mix isn't bad either Claire's so good for me (delilah mix) is good - I listened to that a few times - the only gripe i would have with that is the cut from the voice to the bass on the choruses is a bit 'sharp' - but i like this one a lot Thats probably my favourite at the moment along with: scot frazer's Jetstream (lost baggage mix), which I also like a lot - again the break to voice only at the end of verse 2 is too 'sharp' for me.

Sorry tho', I still prefer my own mixes - if they download check out my DUBstream and (a little heavy) mixes. I still play these 5-6 times every day so I must like them!

Aw, thanks CuanaD! Actually, by the time I finished it I was totally sick of it. Perhaps I'll have another listen and try to download some of the others - most were not loading when I tried a few weeks ago

craigy - I'm listening to your mix now - I like the percussion only bit in the 'breakdown' - nice get the impression you don't like miss matronic's parts then

BTW, i (re)downloaded my own DUBstream & it downloaded & played for me - actually it still sounds effing brilliant to me

Now, when are they going to call me to remix/edit all their new stuff :D

The site says that the band will do the judging... The problem may be convening a band meeting? Maybe Hooky is boycotting...

London Records have been experiencing technical problems with downloading audio entries to the U-Myx competition, which was tied in with the 'Jetstream' single. For this reason they have not yet been able to announce the winner of the competition.

I wonder if the band really are judging this?- given how busy they are. I bet they just get given a shortlist whittled into shape by some company suit (well, tea boy; they can't inflict that punishment on anyone too senior)...

Does anyone know if U-MYX is going to be on WFTSC as well?

I thought the 'teaboy' or such like was going to come up with a list of the best 20 for the band to judge
