I live in Texas in the United States and I have been listening to New Order since the mid 80's. Some of you may think it's strange for a Texan to be listening to New Order but you would be surprised how many fans in the US they have.

It's usually several years in between releases here but I am really glad the band is still together and creating new songs and albums. I hope that continues for a long time because the music is so uplifting and a joy to listen to.

I have enjoyed every song on "Waiting for the Siren's Call" and even bought a second copy of it for a friend of mine I grew up with who also enjoyed New Order.

I am hoping one of these days they can perform a concert in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Texas area. I would definitely be there. I wish I could get in contact with the band to personally tell them how much I have appreciated their music and maybe someone can pass this post on to them.

Thank You.

Nice first post and from what people have been saying, sounds like Somalia is a more likely place for them to play than Texas!

An american doing his first post only wishing that they come to his town?

Now that must be a first.. usually it's "are they going to play in my town?!?!?!"

Hehe, it's kind of an inside joke here, don't worry ;)

Welcome aboard... :hi:

Well, the American site says they are only going to play in California, Illinois, and New York. I guess we should be lucky they play here at all. I wish they would make a Dallas stop next time.

New Order are still really popular in Amerrica, not hugely, but they are a well known and respected indie/alternative/electro band.

Whenever I play New Order when I DJ, the songs are very well recieved.

If New Order did a 15 date tour of America playing auditoriums in major cities, they would do pretty well.

Well it looks like there are more New Order fans in Texas than in any other state - as I see by posts. So it should mean something?

I told Bernard and his manager that 2 very popular locations people were asking for were Dallas and Toronto...

So if they got it right, we'll see next year if they will do it, but it's obviously the 2 most requested cities on here.. that has not been visited.
