just saw an advertisement on the Fox network for their first spinoff from that 70's show...and it is none other than...That 80's Show...

So here goes...how many times will anything about New Order make it into this series in the first season???

My guess is....maybe ONE....

okay...fine....don't post your replies...I'll have the last laugh...actually...they just did another ad, with some spare song by Madonna...so I would like to revise my previous estimate...I am lowering it from maybe one to somewhere in the neighberhood of zilch....maybe even a negative...coz I'm sure Journey and Eddie Money and Bon Jovi will somehow pop up....

oh...sorry...we have a show (sit-com) over here called That '70's Show, which has all sorts of crap from the '70s...so you get what That '80s Show will be about...

kind of funny from the few episodes I've seen...and of course, when I saw '80s...I was hoping that our heroes might merit a mention or two...but I'm doubting it!!!

Who stars in it? - or is it people we probably have never heard of?

Buck Satan, i'll help you out here. That 70's Show is on Fox and is a little like Happy Days but in the 70's. It is a funny show if Sky or whatever satellite/cable provider you use should get it, definetly watch a few episodes. I don't actually have cable so i haven't seen the ads for the 80's show but i am positive it will be crap. I was born in 72 but i have no recollection of the 70's culture so That 70's Show can be funny. The 80's are a different matter altogether. I'm sure someones little sister will need a cabbage patch kid or one of the haggard members of Duran Duran (sorry liv) will make a guest appearance like they did on Miami Vice. Total Shite if you ask me. Jeff, get yerself out of Texas. What about Redmond? Is that an option still? Seriously, life gets better once you leave the bible belt. Now, about that Hank Williams Cd.......

I'm betting that it'll be about two times; once by playing a bit of a song between scenes, and another by having a poster of the band in the background. Can't say that I'll watch to find out whether I'm right or not. Used to watch That 70's Show when it came out, but the previews for the 80's version make the new kid seem a whole lot less funny than the original.

Sorry Jeffy, I just saw this post! I did see the previews of this new series and I have to say it doesn't look like it will be that good of a show (I am not a big fan of sitcoms anyway)

But on the topic of your original post I think they may play BLT in the background of some scene (isn't that always how they are played, in the background?)

I really don't think they will go farther than that. The 80s was all about music and there is a lot, so to have our favorite band in there somewhere is a chance but I don't think I will watch to find out! :p

they might throw it in eventually. I'm guessing if they go to a club or something. This show actually reminds me of the wedding singer, which coincedentally had new order on the soundtrack. it also had the smiths, the cure, and the cars, among more typical 80s songs.
