anyone see it on BBC 3? or are you all at the festival?
quite good I thought, Brandon says his band are big fans and New Order seem to have mutual respect for the Killers also.
anyway, can someone put it as an audio treat of the week for next week?

i didnt say the killers were original, they seem like every band i have ever seen rolled into one - and thats not a good thing.

I caught Krafty, Crystal and Atmosphere on BBC3.
To be honest, wasn't that impressed. The sound was pretty shit (Hooky's bass sounded ridiculously out of tune) and I thought that Killers bloke appearing during Crystal was a bit cheesy to say the least. I mean I thought a waiter had gatecrashed the stage and the duet ruined an epic track. When NO get their mates on stage whether it be Keith Allen, John Simm, Brandon Flowers etc. it really irks me. Some fans may love it but I think it's a pisstake and the mutual backslapping "hey man" and grinning between verses is cringeworthy enough to make me turn off 
Before I'm accused of being a moaney bastard; I've enjoyed just about all of NO's 2005 live appearances so far from the French TV show MP3s to actually attending Hyde Park... all amazing stuff 
I also hate to sound like an "oldie" fan, but they never would've done this "Hey man, get up on stage and murder a vocal with me" lark in the old days would they?
Don't forget the technical problems... those seems to happen at each and every New Order gig!

Some of us oldies remember watching Ian McCulloch getting up on stage to sing Ceremony in 1986.

didn't like it myself and I love crystal...only good part was you could hear Barney's guitar bit at the end much better than on the recorded version
You set of moaning miserable bastards! I enjoyed all four songs broadcast (regret, krafty, crystal. atmosphere). The Brandon Flowers appearence was welcome, and the Killers album is alright. The interview with Hookey's son was fun too! Get out a bit more, get a hobby or something!
Must've been the case of you HAD to be there then Ally, cannae believe you live in Scotland and never made the effort :( The craic was fuckin brilliant yesterday, unfortunately I left ma phone at home And came back to 14 messages! Sorry to all those texted and never got a reply, I am a tube.
Met up with Al, Mark, Gordy, Wolfram (who I never recognised....again!) G and his missus and John and Lorraine in Bloc, a bar that G's mate John runs, also met up with Shades, Bansheeman and his sister, Alex, John & Christine at the gig, we watched the Coral and The Streets, neither my cup of tea, but the crowd lapped them up, loads of people fucked off after the streets, but they were replaced by others coming from different stages. Me and John left Lorraine and Tammy at the right hand side barrier and joined the rest of the usual suspects right after Regret, the sound didnae sound bad to us at all, as for the lad from The Killers coming onstage, we all thought it was great, though we were too busy diving around like loonies to hear it clearly, fuckin mental where we were, but not deathlike (Barcelona) or thrown around and battered (Hyde Park) just the right balance of holding on for dear life and just enough space to light a fag and have a dance!!! The speakers read "Love To London" and Atmosphere was also dedicated to London, very fitting cos it was sung perfectly and not one sign of a whoop or whistle!
The songs which received the biggest crush(es) were LWTUA, Temptation and BLUE MONDAY! The highlight was the amps fucking up towards the end of True Faith, Barney stopped singing and the crowd took over, an unforgettable moment! According to Barney "The amps have blow, that's what you get when you use a 5 amp fuse.....is that the Scottish saving money?" which was met by a bit of booing till he said he was joking. The Set-List was the usual, but the crowd and the atmosphere more than made up for it. Worth every penny, and I just wish I was in Dublin tonight with the rest of the Vikings, I have already been on the phone to DoN and John and made sure they told Al to send me a setlist! Has anyone got the mp3's of the gig yet? Desperate to hear it, the band were in great spirits and Barney left the stage saying "You've been a great audience, I'm sorry but I can't stop smiling" Neither could we!
Can't wait for the next set of gigs to accompany the new album when it's out, unless I win the lottery and get to go to France. As they chanted last night....

Thanks for that Nic ;) lol. I came down for Hyde but stuck around to look for a job and have a few pissups with my brother. Probably back in Scotland this week. I'm glad you enjoyed the gig Shug! ;) In my post I was meaning the songs aired came across as pretty shite over the telly that's all and I do think the Brandon Flowers duet was a bit naff. Maybe it was the BBC sound? Dunno, you're right it's something you probably had to be at... if I were pissed and in the crowd chanting the lyrics I'd be on here gushing right now
Funnily enough I got a text from a mate of mine who went and during Regret he txt'd "My mate says Regret is an Electronic song and not a New Order one, what's the deal?"

Brandon Flowers can't sing. Why New Order would want his terrible, nasal "voice" sharing a stage with them, I have no idea. They really are losing their sense of taste in their old age, first Billy Corgan, now this.
