The new year started off terribly with the death of someone close in the family, and so I have not really visited the site much recently. However, I came on last week, and found myself unable to post with all the contoversy that was going on. In fact I became even more depressed. I couldn't believe what was happening to the site, although Marty's NY e-mail did give me some cause for concern, as it seems that he had spotted what had been going on.

Anyway, I was cheered up considerably yesterday evening as I was leaving the Gym. I decided that life must go on etc. On leaving the gym, and getting into my car, I heard an enormous racket from a jeep that was pulling out of the car park. I could hear singing - and the music seemed familiar. On closer inspection, there was a man in the car wearing earphones, singing Someone Like you at the top of his voice, which unfortunately was completely out of tune. I laughed, but it was somehow comforting. And before you ask.. it wasn't Bernard!

Last night I dreamed that I met Barney after a gig. He was sound. No sign of Hooky or the other two though.

Didn't notice that the story was half tragic/half tragic-comic

One night at work I noticed a van which had a kicking sound system (keep in mind:I have no stereo, so any car with a working radio has a "kicking sound system" compared to mine), with a familiar dum-dum-dumdumdum-dum beat. At first I was ecstatic, all ready to go over to the owner of the van and congratulate him on his good taste. Then I realized the beat had gone on far longer than a certain legendary 12 inch, thus it was most likely a techno rip off. But nevertheless, the very thought that maybe, just maybe, I wasn't the only NO fan in the Upstate gave me something to smile about :D
