Recycling the music - they have been doing it from the start!

I remember when WFTSC went out, people were mostly saying it was similar to many songs they have done in the past.

I think it's true, but I also noticed that they have been doing it from the start of their career until now.

So, I just found a new one I never noticed until now, can we actually find all of them?

Here is 2 I'll always remember:

At 3:50 in Way of Life you can CLEARLY notice the Love Will Tear Us Apart melody played with a guitar. It might be that way all along, but it just stoke me when I used my headphones.

In Temptation-87's ending 6:40, you can clearly hear the Atmosphere drum line... it's more evident in live versions because Hooky plays the Atmosphere bass line over it. Check the Reading 98 version to see.

Any more?

"Chosen Time" has the same drum pattern as "These Days". It's easier to notice on live versions.

"Avenues lined with trees, strangled words for the day....."

"Avenues all lined with trees, picture me and then you start watching....."

It's not just the Order!

The early versions of ICB could easily be interchanged with Dead Souls - I swear the fans at Rotterdam Hal4 thought it was Dead Souls!

The Kill and Walked In Line have the same guitar "solo".....

I thought it sounded like Dead Souls the first time I heard it.

Leave Me Alone sounds like Shadowplay at the beginning.

The past/present/future part in Confusion reminds me of Heart & Soul.

"The past is the present, the future is mine" - Confusion "The past is now part of my future, The present is well out of hand." - H&S

That's all I can think of right now.

also Hooky has reused some of his bass patterns, tweaking them here and there to get a completely different sound from the same notes. Brilliant.

If I recall a few of the bass lines from Brotherhood snuck on to Monaco's Music For Pleasure.

Steve's been using the same drum beat for years. Same one that was used on Transmission is essentially the same one all the way down through Regret and I don't know how many others over the years.

These words perfectly summarizes both bands respective careers. Never thought about in that way. Two very different lines.

I think they have re-used parts of Atmosphere in Love Vigilantes. The keyboard part in Atmosphere around 2:20 always reminds me of the melody of Love Vigilantes.

The keyboard notes that begin Who's Joe and Sunrise

You're right there , but you wouldn't say that Way of Life is by any means similar to LWTUA, would you? That's a bit different with those songs on WFTSC which sometimes still sound to me a bit like - sorry - New-Order-by-numbers...

Not similar of course, but recycling what they have done before ;)

Obviously in this case, it's barely noticable.. the first time I notice in 15 years!

The bassline at the end of Vicious Circle is used throughout Sweet Lips.
