For my money, saville's artwork for the last 3 NO albums and their singles has been spectacularly poor and/or lazy.
Time to find another designer? Discuss.....
p.s. don't anyone tell me about the "irony" of the Repblic artwork and it's single releases - ironic or not, pish is still pish!
80% of what he does I love.
70% of what he does could be done by anyone though.
The 'No' cover is pretty dire though...
he's one of my favorite things about new order. while i dont particularily like the cover of waiting... i do like the inside pictures. and get ready had great artwork.

Well it's achieved perfect synergy with the bands music then! 
Saville connoisseurs may be interested in a interview he's done for next weekend's 'The Guide'. It's the free listings supplement that comes with Saturday's Guardian newspaper in the Uk.
I doubt Saville does any of the art himself these days, hence 'Saville Associates', more of a director days.

You should take a page from Saville, slap your name on someone else's design, change a detail or two, and turn it in late.

I do like his design too, but as far as NO releases 2001-2005 (apart from International) are concerned, they are just not interesting, not intriguing, as were, for example, Closer, Republic, True Faith, etc.
In his book, Designed by Peter Saville, there is a bunch of his recent works called Waste Paintings. I wish he had used them in some way for New Order. But he didn't. :(
Or take Gay Dad sleeves - they were at least attractive, though not really innovative.

The associate who did the WFTSC cover needs to be disassociated!

I love this too; it's my second fave NO studio LP cover. My favourite is Brotherhood, my least favourite LP cover is, well, obvious...

The inner sleve of WFTSC (behind the CD) is a detail from one of the waste paintings.
I bought a T-shirt by Mr saville from an art gallery in London, and when i was buying it i asked about his waste painting series. and the woman told me waste painting #7 had sold the day before for £7000, not a bad price if you ask me!
Saville should never go, his standards have slipped recently but unknown pleasures, closer, blue monday, true faith, republic, technique, thieves like us, lowlife etc etc all peerless designs
Will someone please explain to me why the cover for WFTSC is so obviously inferior to, say, the cover for Unknown Pleasures?
Keep Saville. Who else could dare ? Who else could turn the sleeve of "Autobahn" into a new one for "Krafty" as a reference to Kraftwerk ?

Indeed the WASTE PAINTINGS are great and i agree with you also about 2001-2005 designs not being INTERESTING too. I still collect GAY DAD records aswell for the design as much as the music.Watch SHUGZV have a go here NOW!:D
