Good comic actor. He came to light in the 80s, when he appeared in the brilliant Comic Strip films (which have just been reissued in a DVD box set after being unavailable for ages). Keith crops up all over the place, normally playing a dangerous loony in TV and film roles. He has a bit of a reputation for getting off his head and acting daft, which I think is how he got friendly New Order.

Generally a good lad, in my opinion.

Woody's right - one of the shortest starring roles in cinema history.

He also presented the 'game show' on New Order Story.

And once threatened to smash my head in with a pool cue.

True enough!

He was always this slightly unstable character in the Comic Strip films, especially the superb Professionals spoof The Bullshitters. He also had a central role in the late 80s comedy drama Making Out which was set in glorious Manchester and featured music by...New Order!

Indeed, the theme for it was an instrumental version of Vanishing Point so it would be around 89. His character met a sticky end I think, and their friendship with him saw him get involved with World In Motion the following year (he wrote the lyrics).

Gilbert and Morris also did the music to Common As Muck, another great MCR-set comic drama on the Beeb. His younger bro, Kevin, is also involved with telly.

As I said - the complete Comic Strip is available on DVD now - about time too!

It's a bit hazy, but I seem to remember that he took a bit of a shine to my girlfriend and her mate. He was joking around, trying to get them both to go home with him. They pointed out that I was there and he said something like "soon sort that out" and swung the cue at me. He was only joking around, but he pulled that manic face (the one that gets him all the film roles, I suppose), which made it very, erm, impressive.

Allegedly he also appeared naked on stage with Max Bygraves. Now there is a Sun headline if ever I saw one!

Keith is also famous for the unofficial England 1998 World Cup song "Vindaloo".

'me, my mum, my dad and and my gran, we're off to Waterloo, me, my mum, my dad and and my gran, with a bucket of Vindaloo....etc.'

also appeared (possibly drunk) on a late night arts review type show many years back wearing a t-shirt that said "i'm a tory and i snort cocaine" (or something similar, had a massive row with everyone there and stormed off..... was quite funny
