So this was serious?

They are releasing 7"?

Gee, I didn't see a turn table in 10 years!

If it's true, then I'll be listening to 7" singles again. Whoopeee!

Yes, that's an official information of warner. It was in the same message as last weeks new compilation info. It seems to be hip in the UK.

Is there anyone out there who actually still buys and seriously uses 7" vinyl as a listening source? When I mean regular, I mean as opposed to simply popping a CD single into your Hifi? I mean come on New Order Management/London Records, it's 2005!

Any news on the WFTSC CD or DVD single? Knowing our luck there'll be about 2 unique remixes confined to the vinyl which will never get a proper digital release :nonono: I know lots of "old timers" ;) may disagree with this sentiment, but I wish vinyl as a medium would just hurry up and die so we can have everything in full CD or DVD quality audio from the outset, rather than having to make do with on dodgy turntable-to-PC conversions for decades on end.

Would love to be proven wrong with WFTSC though!

Thanks... I am starting to believe that everybody in Warner UK is on vacation! :dotdotdot:

I have the feeling those remixes will be on the WFTSC single CDs... let's wait and see.

I wonder what is with Blue Monday on the 12", and the typo errors in some places though, for an official press release, they rushed it ;)

As I said, in France they said that "the singles" is the real deal, UK PR said "we heard something about it", yet to get a reply from Warner UK though...

But it's summer, so I'll give them that as an excuse...

This information is from Warner Germany. The same guy who posted the information on the fansite http://www.neworder.1nd.de posted the things on the official site http://www.neworder.de. But this information you won't find it on the official Site, because it's not interesting for Germany.

Yeah I have seen it when I checked the link about the compilation CD, but to be honest, I wasn't believing those news...

I'm still surprised, but they rather seem official... it's not typical that we're (Sultan & I) scooped by Warner Germany ;)

They think about it to bring all mixes on one CD Maxi, but perhaps chart rules in some countries could prevent this.

Exactly, I'd be very surprised if we saw all 7 of those vinyl remixes + a Radio Edit on a UK CD release, even with the 'CD 1&2' format. Judging from Krafty/Jetstream it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the CD 1 tracklisting will probably be:

  1. WFTSC (Radio edit)
  2. WFTSC (Album version)

That leaves 4 tracks max for a CD 2 + the video most likely. By that reckoning there will be mixes unique to the seven inches only which just sucks in my opinion. Come September the sound of thousands of New Order fans hooking dusty turntables up to their soundcards :uhoh:

The US'll probably get all of them on a bumper 7 or 8 track Maxi-single. Assuming WFTSC gets a Stateside release; remember 60 MPH and Here To Stay didn't get one after Crystal. Again, hope I'm wrong!

Well, I still use my Technics, because you find a lot of new, unknown artists here in the UK still bring out 7" vinyl records - probably percieved to be "cool" by alternative radio DJs, I'd've thought.

I still prefer getting the tracks on CD though - easier to put into my Network Walkman. If three 7" singles come out in Germany, that'd be cute to track down and own.

As for 'Waiting For The Sirens's' call in the UK, we're not allowed any more than three formats, and aren't we getting a CD, 12" and DVD single? If 'WFTSC' isn't going on 'Item', that would make sense.

I'd hold your breath for a US maxi-CD. What of all these 'Guilt Is A Useless Emotion' mixes we were hearing about though?

Pleased to hear there's going to be a Blue Monday remix - it's been really neglected over the years, that one.

Ahem.

bloody typical new order this is,loads of fans will be itching to hear these remixes and sticking em on a 7"vinyl to create an air of unavailability and coolness and thus collectability is pandering to those with more money than brains. pssssst im putting mine on ebay.

Looks like I'll have less money for holidays, but more NO items to add to the collection. No CD release for these mixes? Strange.

It had to be you who said yes :D

I don't deny vinyl is great for the big artwork and nostalgia. I'm very fond of my Ruined in a day 12" and the Technique era sleeves. Don't regret buying them at all and I really want to get them framed at some point when I have more of a disposable income. Even the Ceremony 7", which is a dreary little record but still a very cool item.

I just don't have the patience to do vinyl > PC transfers anymore, it's soul destroying and there's always a loud crackle in there somewhere no matter how well you clean the record, especially the 20 year+ ones. My request to the NO management is: Give us as much vinyl as you want but please make sure all the tracks are available on CD too

I want vinyl dammit but I'll take some CDs for the car.

Crackling is the best part of a record...love it

Hit me with it!!!!

Oh, I'd defenatly agree. There is something special about records, but yes, I'd still love to see them released on *both* vinyl and CD.

This is very naughty, but clever I guess...

The CD 7" collection / best of, will be bought by all the newbies and the VINYL 7" will be bought by all the old sentimental fogeys like me who didn't have enough pocket money when the originals came out...

Yep, ring true to me either. I know i won't be able not to buy the new comp. (and yes, i really do hope that it'll be the original 7"...).
