Upcoming NO Releases in Australia: Details (Slight return)

Fellow Oz NOOLers; Further to the sterling efforts of our fungus-faced Westralian compatriot (or DC to the uninitiated), I have some further info from Warner AU that might be worth knowing -

"Item" as a concept will not exist for the Australian market; it will instead be issued as a single disc comp of the film clips and will have the imaginative title "A Collection". NO Story may follow as a later, single-disc DVD, but not for some time and its not scheduled.

There isn't a release date confirmed for "A Collection" as yet, but it is hoped that it will be out around the same time as "The Singles" CD comp at the end of October (31st was the date quoted), but definately not before.

Nicos, if you read this, can you please alter the release date info on the main page accordingly?

It seems Warner AU are a little confused about info coming from the UK regarding all this. In typical NO fashion.

'A Collection' is the name of the first disc in the original 'Item' two-disc set from Rhino. Perhaps that's the disc with the amusing 'punter in raincoat' cover.

Cripes CTB, since when was a sharply cut goatee a 'fungus' anyway? Or are you just a little delirious heading into this weekend's big prelim final?

No offence intended, ChargeBeast - I'm just running out of adjectives that describe your beard.

Incidentally, I purchased 'Spaced' on DVD whilst in the UK on your reccommendation, and it's a hoot. :thumb: CTB :bear:

So this would be the first proof that there are places releasing this as 2 distinct DVDs...

Still have no news from the UK though...

Considering Amazon, Play.com, 101CD.com & others are listing this as 2 separate DVD releases then I would consider that as news that the UK had proof of this a couple of weeks back.

I'm asking the US to make sure it's still that way there.

Amazon.com switched to "A Collection", so it scares me a little.

The deal is that London have been undecided about how to release this DVD set. First they wanted a double-DVD box, now it seems they want to milk a separate release. According to Warner AU, they still weren't sure what they wanted to do with it in the UK as late as last week.

The thing is, if NewOrderStory is set to be a stand-alone item, they really should've considered filming an update for it and splicing it in. It was OK in it's old form if it was just an extra in the 'Item' box, but it's not really such a relevant "must buy" on its own, being so dated and all.
