While flicking through Q magazine today was browsing over the top 50 british singles of all time.

Blue monday was at No.44 if i remember correctly(didn't buy it, not a fan of that magazine) and love will tear us apart was at No.29, pretty lowly for 2 all-time classics.

well out of all the millions of records ever made by anyone,to get 2 in top 50 is fooking amazing.even though i dont agree with blue monday.

pitchfork recently did a feature called "now that's what i call new pop!" that looks at british synth pop from 78-84... the abc/human league branch of it all i suppose... anyway, there's a list of the top 40 "new pop" singles, with new order coming in at #28 with confusion and #7 with blue monday. quite a nice list (i'd never heard of the associates... i don't know how... ordered 'sulk'...)

check it: http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/features/weekly/new-pop/

oh, just so everyone knows, it really pisses me off that everytime i log in, it puts me back to the front page... very annoying. something must be done. wouldn't it be nice if it just put you on the page you were at when you found out you needed to log in? eh? reasonable? logical? doable? is that a word? tell me!

I thought there would be a decent amount of space devoted to this but it is covered on 2 pages only so about 2" square to these 2 songs

Christ almighty, the top five is so depressing!!! God save the Queen was terrible, and I absolutely hate Queen.

but the masses rule I suppose.
