Seems like all promo covers from the WFTSC era....
Obviously, it's not the final one.

Awful. Peter Saville is dead.
I'm pretty sure it's not it... can't be.
Saville would NEVER use the same artwork as True Faith...

Reminiscent of death (leaf skeleton)... or the end... This doesn't look like a NO cover to me... Whoever did it thinks that NO are wrapping soon.

How about True Faith 94?

He did modify it at least !
Mind you, he did want to recycle the PCL sleeve for WFTSC... And lets face it, the Singles LP is yet another recycling of the NO back catalogue for us mugs to buy, just so we can get the odd new-to-CD 7" version...
I hope it's not the sleeve though - whatever happened to Saville the innovator?

Oooh I would love that, actually. :D
I actually like simplicity. (WFTSC's cover (the album) was just unacceptable, though)
The old Single cover with just the "S" was better than the naked girl...
well, the black cover is spot on. i love it. it's perfect inna substance meets Low-Life at the end of a lonely day. the font is the same used on Low Life iirc. i wonder how much bitching we would have seen if Substance had been released during the internet age!
anyway, looks like another 20bucks will be spent on this even though i've got EVERYF**KING thing on there already.
Release RECYCLE NOW!

I think that is brilliant. It would be in keeping with PS's recent brillaint reworking of Unknown Pleasures. I'd buy the tee-shirt and everything!
Both of these don't look too bad, I can't see the TF style being real though, the plain, WFTSC style would fit with PS's "can't be arsed doing CD sleves anymore", attitude, not minimalist, minimal effort![]()
Seems strange that this cd is being released in a couple of weeks and amazon.co.uk is not listing it yet.

They're always late lately... I don't even visit Amazon anymore. There's nothing new.
Uhm, the one with the leaf looks fookin great and I think that could be the true cover. I wouldn't like the one with the Low Life font, but looks like a promo.
The True Faith leaf was one of the best singles covers and reworking it, stripping it down for a collection of singles, of which True Faith is, for its importance, though not chronologically, a centre piece is a good idea.
The font is really cool too, recalls Substance, a classic but modified with a futuristic feel.
Actually, the fact that this work would be his first true creative effort since Technique on a font and on an image make me skeptical now!
Being released the same day as Item, it MUST be another image with an Helvetica font.
But who did that sleeve then? Just the record shop to show a cover while the true one arrives? The guy is a great Saville fan then...

looks like the cover for the best of underworld

But concur, the font type on this Leaf cover is ghastly looking.

Republic is one of the best sleeve designs I've ever seen in my life.

Pity the music is so crap

It looks like a hack trying to approximate the 'look' of Substance. Except the font is hideous!
Hmmm. It doesn't look like Saville's work to me. The font and handling of the leaf look very uncharacteristic of his style. I doubt it's his, so I doubt it's the real thing. But if it is the real thing and if it is actually his work, well...I don't know what to say! I don't know how I feel about it. Part of me loves it, part of me hates it. The more I think about it, the more there is to like, but my most basic and immediate reaction is one of dislike.
I think it would be interesting if Saville did one of his "Waste" paintings using all of the NO singles as it its basis.
What do you think???

He already did that (well, not with all the singles), but the actual painting was just shown at exhibitions, as I seem to recall...
i guess the "leaf" and style is in the same view as Substance, which makes alot of sense.
but...i don't like it thou, the font is lame...its all visually uninteresting, maybe shows that Saville has lost interest which is a shame because Saville and New Order have been great for each other

Yes, you are right. He did a series of them using - I believe - 7 or 8 singles per painting. I just think it would be interesting if he did it with all of them in the order of the tracklisting (or chronologically). It reminds me of Rem Koolhaas' design for the EU flag. It would make sense to me, at least.
