Which songs does Steve use sequencers instead of real drums in? As far as I remember (at this particular minuter I've got no CD) there's not much:

[New edit]

Truth Blue Monday 586 (only BBC/Video version?) Your Silent Face Confusion Perfect Kiss This Time Of Night Sub-culture Shellshock Angel Dust Bizarre Love Triangle Fine Time Round & Round Vanishing Point Mr Disco World Ruined In A Day Spooky Chemical Times Change Vicious Streak Here To Stay Guilt Is A Useless Emotion

What else?

Mr Disco Round & Round GIAUE (?)

Good thread. I'd love to compile a definitive list.

I believe in True Faith the snare and kick drum were sequenced with 'real' hi hat from Steve

Your Silent Face (on record) This Time of Night Subculture Paradise (not sure actually) Vicious Streak

I gave it another listen and I'm pretty sure it's sequenced.

HTS 1963 ...maybe?

Good thread! CTB :bear:

Difficult to gauge these days, since he's been using a fully electronic kit. Sub-culture was only partly sequenced in the old days. We All Stand is one that hasn't been listed yet, as is Ultraviolence. There is some drumming in KW1 and Paradise.

in the very early days a drum machine was used on 'In A Lonely Place' and 'Procession' 'cos steve was playing synth or singing. The version of 'Cries And Whispers' they played in 83 in the US sounds like it features a drum machine rather than steve.

SOTN and Vpoint both have 'live' drums.

Which drums are live on Vanishing Point? And is that live or in the studio version?

I think you'll find that many songs mentionaed are a mixture of sequenced and real drums (well Steve playing in real time) using drum pads and the like. perfect example State of the Nation

Outside of Hooky and his drum pads, TPK is sequenced.

No doubt, but the question was which songs had sequenced drums instead of 'played' drums, rather than the more common combo of Steven playing along with a drum machine. CTB :bear:

How early?

In A Lonely Place and Procession with sequenced drums?? I can't hear it in my head... It seems so unlikely since both songs have distinguishly a "live" drumming beat. Well it'd be intersting to hear. In Taras Shevchenko Steve is playing Procession live.

i believe thieves like us is sequenced. anybody see this played live? the recorded version sounds so damn perfect, but then Steve's drumming is that good too.

For In A Lonely Place get hold of a recording from Boston 1980 (widely circulated).

For a short blast of Procession try here: www.new-order.net (unfortunately NOT widely circulated)

Temptation has only a sequenced synth pattern.

Angel Dust for sure, since I had a tape with demo [?] version or it was soundcheck where Steve tried the song for like 3 times with only drum sequencers, which was very cool.
