In the hallowed halls of pointless fan speculation, there are countless antechambers filled with the logged conversations of who should render the ultimate cover version of whom's song. This thread is no different. Tell us which artists you think could give the best performances of which NO tunes.
Massive Attack - Ruined In a Day, Everyone Everywhere
Ever since listening to the K-Class remix of RIAD, i've thought that both these songs would lend themselves well to a down-tempo trip hop remake. Add the Attack's patois-inflected vocals as well.
British Sea Power - Regret, Procession
All being said, The Get Up Kids' emo cover of Regret wasn't all that bad, despite the fact that none of them were capable enough to play the lead guitar riff on well, guitar (they used a toy keyboard).
BSP is the only group sans Echo & The Bunnymen with enough pomp and bombast to deliver an adequately operatic cover of Regret. Also, Yan's quavering vocals and the group's default sound already form a good fit for Procession's bizarre lyrics and terse, twitchy tempo.
