New Order song you find most annoying.

Now don't get me wrong on this. I love New Order with a passion. And I love their songs, except one song in particular that annoys me when it comes on, Rock the Shack, that song gets on my nerves so fast. I like the main lyrics and stuff, I just hate the chorus where Bernard is yelling rock the shack. Anybody else got any annoying preferences?

I know I will take it on the chin for this, but I detest Blue Monday. I can't stand that song in any form.

Frankly, I find Thieves Like Us to be quite obnoxious.

No, don't worry. Lots of people around here hate it, too.

My vote goes to 'Times change'; it has a lovely little bridge/instrumental section with a great Hooky bit, but the rest of it (rapping, repeated mentions of Port Royal town) is nowhere near as good. The irritation factor is that it's mostly shite, but with a few seconds of brilliance. CTB :bear:

Easy: "Working Overtime."

The second half of Republic is pretty damn annoying, but if I had to pick one song it would be Confusion or Slow Jam.

most of the last LP.

We All Stand for the lack of energy or tension, Barney's voice is at its whiniest, lyrics forgettable, a low on PC&L

60MPH, Rock the Shithouse, Slow Jizzam, Close Range and Run Wild for ruining an otherwise great EP of Get Ready (that's right, I said it....Republic is flawed, but a much more solid album than Get Ready)

Bout it right there :deal:

my only vote is Working Overtime.

It sucks, Je detest

I agree with you on Confusion. Definitely one of their worst.

Thieves Like Us. Vocal line in my opinion is terrible.

Every Little Counts just shades it today, ahead of All Day Long, Turn My Way and Slow Jam.

Im going to get alot of flak for this one, Turn. I still dont see all the fuss about it. Generic lyrics, boring college rock. Didnt REM do this song?ITs not a bad song, and i think all the praise for this song annoys me.

I love Shellshock, and Confusion. I thought the foray into new york city music served them well. They were so ahead their time.

Surely worth a mention.

Yes I do - sorry! 1963's the only one on the second disc that I like.

You're not the only ones, guys; I like them too! (Only the '87 version of Confusion, though. I think the original's horrible.)

wow- i never heard that before

Isn't it great to hear others speak their mind?

Re. Confusion 87. I don't mind it, because Barney's vocals are a lot more confident than on the original. But I think the clash between the backing vocals and Barney's voice clatter up the 87 version.

Yeah, its great people speak their minds. Im sure people will respectfully disagree with my selection of TURN.

While I can see how you'd view it as generic, I think that Barney's passion lifts the song.

You?

'Turn' is annoying? And so is 'Lonesome tonight'? You guys do like New Order, right? :confused2: CTB :bear:

i like turn and lonesome tonight. the only song i cant stand listening to is rock the shack. i just wish they would have done a different song for the last song on wftsc, i dont want to here i need your love i just want to buy it i need your love will you help me find it blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. was that really worthy a song to put on twice, i cant remember the name of it at the mo cuz i dont like it. the first time hearing it is alright, but twice, they shoulda done a differrent song remix or just drop it all together.

Guilt is a Useless Emotion, thats the title of the song that was unneeded just to add some meat to the album, but i love the album personally, minus this thing

 Yeah, I am a huge fan of both tracks, and find it hard to believe that a NO fan wouldn't like them. BUT I am also a huge fan of several NO songs that many people loathe, including WIM, GIAUE, BM and Sub-Culture. Diff'rent stroke for diff'rent folks, I suppose!

Do you mean Mesh or Cries & Whispers? I ask only because they were talking about the second disc of SUBSTANCE, which was mislabelled.

RE: Everyone's opinion - WRONG!

FACE UP is the obvious winner. Talk about annoying, this song has the single worst vocal performance of Bernards career. Points for the music, however, but the singing kills it. Live versions sound quite a bit more dynamic but Bernard really fucked up that vocal. Lyrics aren't too bad, which is a welcomed change from most of his nonsense.

just to say Face Up is the most "annoying", not the "worst" song of their career.

I LOVE face up! Its great when you are really annoyed at someone but dont want to grant them the honor of depressing you. As for Procession, I love that too. And Confusion. And Blue Monday. And Turn. And World In Motion. Crikey - they are some of my favourites.
