The film will be released on Feb. 2002

You know, John Simm plays Barney. I've been a fan of MR Simm after seeing Michael Winterbottom's 'Wonderland" (also, a fan of Winterbottom).

Oneday, I read Simm's interview on Select, he said about New Order on Reading 98 "...the last great band I saw was New Order. I'd never seen them before and I thought they were just magical I've always been a big fan, I'm so glad they played."

Then I thought, "Oh this guy can play guitar, can do acting..and likes New Order...so if a film about New order or Joy Division is made, then he can play Bernard!"

And I heard the news that John Simm would play Bernard Sumner on 24 HR party people, last year :)

I'm very pleased that Simm plays Barney and Winterbottom is the director. A film about the Factory and Manchester music scene . My favorite actor and director work for it. How cool!

Will it be released in the US or just the UK? I haven't heard much about over here, but then, February is a ways off. I hope it gets released here, it would help introduce more people into the enchanted world of New Order.

I went to college with John Simm in Blackpool and I remember him as a bit of a chuff to be honest.

he looks like an arse to me as well.

they should've got barney to play barney, and richard prior to play rob gretton.

Im dreading the whole thing to be honest. Ralph Little as Peter Hook? and as for the two pretty boys theyve got playing Shaun and Bez I think the filmmakers have got the Happy Mondays mixed up with Take That

Is noone else dreading this film? Or is it just me? 1976-1992 in two hours? Or am I being too precious?

Adam, your speaking only the truth, not only that, you are surrounded by friends. Sometimes you can lay a message in this place and if there's no response its because everyone's in agreement. Some things are said, and like an eerie feeling that spins around the world through everyones minds there is a collective sigh.

Ralph Little, fuck that, that small boy playing Barney fuck him. 24 Hour Party People will be absolute filth, not only that, it will cheapen the whole Factory/New Order story. I could go on, but I won't as the whole issue is so upsetting. I'll leave this subject with this little pearl of wisdom to prove were thinking along the same lines....

24 Hour Part People, 24 Hour Cunt Wankers more like.

Thank fuck for that, I thought it was just me. My mates cant understand why Ive got such a monk on about it, but that Winterbottom bloke is basically condensing my entire teenage life into two hours and thats not how I remember it Im afraid. And John Simm can stuff it up his arse when he says hes always been into New Order, I remember him and his mates doing Andrew Lloyd Webber songs in the refectory at college. And thats true.

John Simm used to drink in my local in Crouch End. Not seen him for a while, mind.

Perfect for playing Barney - both are bloody TINY!

Oh, John Simm used to be a silly college boy? It's little disapponting...:(

I'm also afraid that the film will be different from the true story of Joy Division/New Oder. But they're making a movie, not a documentary. Although the film is based on true story and I want the film to be the same, the movie could not be exactly the same.

Well, Im talking twelve years ago now, Id hope hes grown up a bit. He can drink in pubs as our friend from Crouch End has told us Im just gutted by the whole thing. It`s going to be a British Doors.
