Credited to NO Regret in the worst of NO thread.

It makes me think theres NOT one NO song that everyone likes (which to me is strange).

Interesting point. We are the most critical fanbase that i can think of. Fussy bastards indeed.

Here are three songs that i believe we are united in loving.

Temptation BLT True faith

Mind you we could be sick of these songs.

Any thoughts?

I expect you'll get some dissents on number 2.

It honestly wouldn't worry me if I never heard any of those three again. I detest True Faith in all its forms, and the single version of BLT should have seen them and producer taken out and shot. As for Temptation, it has been hyped up way beyond the quality of the song.

For the untouchable song list I reckon you could only consider including

Ceremony Perfect Kiss Temptation

......oh and I'm sure someone will say Hurt :evil4:

Used to absolutely adore Brotherhood BLT and liked (but didn't go overboard on) True Faith, but don't give either a 2nd glance now due to the ridiculous dumbed-down live versions they've been delivering since 1998.

Temptation is/was class though.

Everyone I know seems to love Age of Consent, Ceremony and Crystal. Perhaps Regret as another populist choice, although I know a couple of dissenters on that one as well.

I would have to agree with ceremony. Im so sick of true faith but give it 5yrs and will adore again. Crystal doesnt jibe right for me. Perfect kiss is on of my favs ,but i heard some dissent.

Would of said Temptation,Ceremony,Regret but even they are being dissed in some quarters:scratch:

Your silent Face?or Sirens for a new one.Have yet to hear Sirens being Slagged by the fans..

I'll stick up fer Toothpaste then. Still love it, although I'd rather they got rid of the remix we see them play live.....same goes fer BLT.

I've never seen anyone slag AOC on here, people have criticised TPK on these pages before though which I found strange.

Sunrise is another largely enjoyed by all as are Ceremony & Temptation.

Good move in picking up my point and making it a thread.

If people dont like Temptation then what do they like? I just dont get it. I know its all about opinion but (forget hype) whats there not to like about the song?

The 3 songs Id question anyone not to like are:

Temptation Leave Me Alone Loveless

Single - The Perfect Kiss (12" version).

B.Side - Lonesome Tonight.

album track - Love Vigilantes.

and of course,in any shape and form, the ear shattering, heart tugging thing of true beauty that i always feel so humbled upon hearing each and every time, the one the only, the legend that is:

Temptation.

sigh, I so agree! if I were to say, "mm not so keen on BLT, what I mean to say is", compared to some NO songs my brain doesn't implode on hearing but compared to every other band on the planet its pretty fucking ace.

The best NO songs in my opinion:

True Faith BLT Perfect Kiss Regret

I think I've heard criticizm for almost every New Order song out there, but a song that I haven't yet witnessed being criticized is This Time Of Night. Anyone agree?

beautiful song. what's to criticize really?

Don't know anyone who doesn't like (or do dislike) Leave me Alone.

Hmmm. "Lonesome Tonight"? Kind of obscure, but one of my favorites. I would pick "Loveless" as well, but there are probably some who would argue it's not "New Order-y" enough. :shy:

What's your top three, mr. monkey?

Personally, I think the best(in no particular order) are:

The Perfect Kiss (12" or video version) Bizarre Love Triangle (album version) Your Silent Face Temptation (original 7" or 12") Ceremony (both versions)

I've listened to these songs too many times to count. I never tire of them.

Fuck it, I don't mind this song, but it's vastly overrated by quite a few people. Best bit is the opening sequence then it fades away for me.

RE: Sugarcane's comment: "compared to some NO songs my brain doesn't implode on hearing but compared to every other band on the planet its pretty fucking ace." - This made me LAUGH! It's so true though.

Top favourites:

Regret - never get sick of it, or any remix. Not sure why. Subculture - the Substance version. Great. Vicious Streak - nice calming song. All the Way - my latest favourite. Round & Round - reminds me of my rollerskating days.

Also any song which takes full advantage of the stereo - love the travelling drums!

Does anyone dislike Crystal?

Or Here to Stay?

Hurt, Lonesome Tonight, Temptation(12), EGG, Your Silent Face, Everyone Everywhere, Ruined in a Day, Leave me Alone, Fine Time, Brutal, side 2 of Technique, Hey Now what you doing, Guilt, Turn, Run Wild, All day Long, Angel Dust, Sunrise, PFD, Ceremony, BM, The Village, Murder. I could make a decent best-of out of that lot - there's plenty more, but i'll stop digging now:blackeye:

There's nothing to dislike about This Time of Night. But then there's nothing to go "woo! woo!" over too. It's just a nice bit of music, possibly a bit boring in places. Doesn't stir any emotions whatsoever. Same goes for the likes of Loveless who someone mentioned earlier. Can't see anyone dis-liking these songs, but they're never gonna get in a general top 20, are they?! There's so many more tracks to stick in yer throat!

They used the music bit of 60 Miles an Hour as a promo tune for Channel 10 Sports Tonight for ages in Sydney (they might still use it - not sure). It's so cool though and sounds great. But Slow Jam was used for a car commercial - I don't remember who - and while the New Order pride kicked in upon hearing it, like any tune used for a commercial I think of that stupid car now when I hear those words "I can't get enough of this". Anyway this is going off the thread track... maybe I'll start another one - "What NO songs have you heard used in ads".

Yes we are straying from the thread (although thats half the fun isnt it?).

So does anyone not like Loveless or Leave Me Alone? Speak now or forever hold your peace.
