Im sure this has been brought up before. What is the song snippet that is played at the finale of Every Second Counts from Brotherhood album? It follows the sound of a needle scratching a record and has always bugged me.
Song after Every Second Counts.

Brilliant, but was it on the original release?

I`d rather listen to the needle slipping over a record than SOTN.

It's not that bad, is it?

Guess Ill not be getting on either!![]()
It's rumoured to be a snippet from an old Iggy Pop & The Stooges record-dunno which one though.
hmmmmm more people who hate New order to be sullied by producers. State and Shellshock have aged badly because of their ultra-cool0-mega-now production....but they are both blindingly good tunes.

Totally agree with this one.
edit: I just realized that this is post 666 for me. Hope nothing bad happens... ![]()

SOTN is one of my all-time favorite NO songs. I just avoid that horrible abortion of an edit that was used in the video.

I totally agree and love both songs too. And Sub-Culture. Basically if New Order song starts with an "S" or "T" then I LOVE IT!![]()
I love SOTN and will never understand the hate, Shellshock is one to skip for me, but I would love to hear a reinterpretation of it.

Naw, it's quite good. just don't listen too hard to the lyrics.

I think SOTN is one of NO better structered songs. Its got a great chorus, funky guitar riff in verses and a monster solo at the end. Plus its the forerunner to Mr Disco.
I like both Shell Shock and SOTN, especially the former. Now, Shame of the Nation is really utter shite and proves that not every NO song can be mixed well. Shame of the Nation kind of reminds me of the Ghostbusters' theme song, actually.

Having spent a serious amount of time researching this (5 mins) i have concluded its a snip of their own Angel Dust in the form of its remix Evil Dust. I am pretty sure about this cos it bugged me for ages too!
Don't mind SOTN but always prefered Shame Of THe Nation myself. But I can't alter my perception of Shellshock, even after buying SINGLES.
It still sounds like a shite Heaven 17 outtake!
Hopefully Richard X will get hold of it sometime and give it some "go faster stripes"!!![]()
