Well, she did like Nazi imagery.
And he did call her up in the middle of the night to tell her to fuck off. Sounds like puppy love!

Seriously?
it would be a thrill to hear Kraftwerk cover JD. Not going to happen. I knew kraftwerk wouldnt do a thing like that. U2 would and it may keep me from buying the soundtrack.

And what, do you suggest, is wrong with U2 doing JD?

Yep, according to someone (I forget who) in the "He's Lost Control" Spin article on JD. While Hannett was smacked out and doing his all-night producer thing during Unknown Pleasures, the boys found a listing in the studio with all sorts of musical celebrities in it, so they phoned up a bunch of people, including Siouxsie and John Peel, and told them to fuck off for a laugh.
So that singer from Green Day will play Ian??
Interesting choice, could be a lot worse.
But he's
relatively old, 33 or so no actor American
I can't help thinking how much Pete Doherty looks like Ian. Too much baggage though and totally unreliable.

i noticed that.
That was on the website? I dont like green day but the singer is a descent guy. Met hime when i was a teenager setting up shows. He still has a babyface so i can see him playing Ian. But can he act?
The singer from Green Day ?.Hmm i wonder what Hooky thinks about that.A couple of times he has stated his hatred of Green Day.Well .. he hates the music not the people i guess.

And there is absolutely no physical resemblance.
Is this a joke?

Im still hoping its a joke that you like The Offspring ,Pats
Thankfully, I think you all seem to have missed the bit that says: 'Current status (Sept 05): Casting continues. English actor required for Ian Curtis.'
I sincerely HOPE that's the case... ![]()

Pete Doherty? If he looks like Ian, I look like Rob Gretton.

agree to that and it would be interesting to see next to him Kate Moss as Annik but everytime i'm looking at Annik's photo she reminds me Brett Anderson![]()
Completley disappointed with Annik - was expecting some exotic beauty but instead she looks like my friend Jo s mum.
I think annik looks fine for a women her age. Perhaps you guys forgot that she is about 50 yrs old.

The only similarity I can see is that they're both off their heads!!.
Don;t like doherty but wouldn't object to him hanging himself.

I have Jonathan to thank for ruining my reputation here.
How dare he go dredging up my indiscretions from the distant past?

Oh, i dont think your reputation is ruined here. I apologize if you feel this way, patty.I know i dont think less of you. A bit of dirt on myself: I very much enjoyed Green Day when i was a teenager. There were plenty of bands when i like when i was younger, and that i cringe at now.

Well, Jonathan, as you said about our little quibble over Turn, I wasn't serious about being upset.
Anything that's lurking in the NOOL archives is fair game, certainly.
Is the weather as lousy where you are as it is here?
I guess we were due for this weather. Before yesterday, i couldnt remember when we receive any significant rainfall. Its been pretty much gorgeous the last few weeks, so i cant complain. But It is hard to muster energy on a day like this. Its still not Autumn-like temps.
We need the rain here as the resorvoirs are way below normal.

That's a very mature attitude.
Personally, I just don't enjoy it.
I'm just glad there's no reason I need to be walking around in it.
But I was hoping to do some errands tomorrow. That will be difficult if the weather stays like this.
And most people seem to think that the English talk about the weather all the time...
Well, it's certainly more interesting than any film that would feature:
Pete 'Utter Twat' Doherty ![]()
