Well, according to a posting on the NME messageboard from an allegedly reputable source. Would be obvious for them to play some festivals and they've obviously played Reading a few times so sounds promising.
New Order to Headline Reading/Leeds?

That's what we thought about a US tour, but you know how that turned out.....
Sorry to keep bitching about it, really, but I never saw the Order live. The last time they toured the States, before Area One, I was probably listening to MC Hammer or Vanilla Ice.
Actually, I hope they do headline Reading, that would be a great show.
So Taboo, you are finally coming out of the closet eh. MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice!![]()

But yer right. It doesn't make sense with yesterdays info 'bout Chem Bros touring USA/road crew being the same as the Order. :D

Ah yes, Mario, I was. They seemed more hardline than Whitney Houston and Mariah "No Record Label" Carey. I guess you could say in those days I was "Too Legit To Quit" :D
MC Hammer; what a guy. If only that fabled 'dance-off' between him and Michael Jackson had ever come-off. Could have sold out Madison Square Gardens for that.
not reading again surely? are they tryin to get in the guinness book of records or something?
B*ll*cks. One of me best mates gets married down in Cornwall at August Bank Holiday, I've been joking for ages that the Order will "probably play Reading that weekend" as a result! Hmmm.

Sorry guys, just been speaking with The Order's manager this afternoon & Reading (or sister gig Leeds) aint happening.
But Finsbury Park...seems like a go-er.
Fingers crossed for a warm up gig somewhere.

Yep, you remembered right Liv, 9th of June it is.
Finsbury Park is a ..erm...Park in North London. And about 2 stones throws from the humble abode of Mr A Jarvis himself.
Been to a few gigs there over the years, including The Fleadh - festival of mainly Oirish/Celtic based bands - & Madness back in 1992 the day after Leeds whopped Liverpool 4-3 in the Charity Shield...happy days. They are usually 1 day affairs, no camping facilities or the like. Just a big stage, in a Park, with 20 odd thousand punters enjoying the proceedings. And loads of burger vans.
Should be a top day out & if we can be arsed to get it together, has the makings of the biggest NOOL gathering to date.
Other strong rumour - NO to play Glastonbury, June 28-30. Has the makings of a total mare if it pisses down. This has not been confirmed by the bands management but a 'source close to them' as they say.

Sounds good to me - Finsbury Park will be great if it comes off, and I'm sure it would be a great opportunity for the UK based fans to meet up (and others if they come over) Great excuse for a massive piss-up over that weekend.....here's hoping for some confirmation
Glastonbury would be good to, but if NO announce they're gonna play it - Rain is guaranteed
Now, where's me tent![]()

Sod the tent, do it in style with a campervan ! Or get a hotel and escape every night like I did at Reading once :)
Tents? Campervans? To hell with all of it...let's just all go au natural...clothes? Who the hell needs them? Just the sight of me nude would get rid of most of the other ragamuffins!!!!!

I hope you're using factor 15 over in Oz!!!
By the way do you know if this Finsbury Park gig would be like the Factory in the Park gig in that tent from '87 or is it part of some other festival?
I only live 15-20 mins walk from the park myself. Last time I was up Finsbury Park way the police with guns had pulled over a car and were taking a samurai sword out of the boot - its an, ahem, 'interesting' area.

Oh No!!!! Why does this happen? So it seems lik eNO will forgo doing any shows in the UK in July or August? This pisses me off. I land in the UK on July the 1st and the first couple of posts had me beleiving that i may get to witness my 3rd NO concert on British Soil! But now the rumor has changed to they are playing the day before i arrive, just beautiful! Any Chance for any other shows do you think?
Whats the chances of them doing that Jubilee thingy at Buck Palace? Highly unlikely i would have thought, but stranger things have happened....

Certainly hope so mate
But if they do play Finsbury and Glasto (both in June) I can't see them doing any other dates - hope I'm wrong and they do a "Best of Tour" with loads of classics they haven't played for a while!!!
Thanks for that info, i may have to just pray to the rock gods they can accomodate my desire to see them again. I am in the UK for 6 weeks, any time that suits them would suit me also!!!
By the way, any ideas on how to pass a 7 hour stopover at Heathrow? I get in from Oz, 7 hours and then fly out to Edinburgh.

Find a Bar - and get pissed - best way to waste 7 hours if you ask me
On the other hand find a lap-dancing club with a Bar and get pissed watching Naked Women![]()

That'd be well good. On the june bank holidays as well. Be a good excuse to randomly elbow any robbie williams fans who'd turned up as well

Of course - the more the merrier - as I've said - if they do play Fisbury or Glasto - it will be the perfect opportunity for people who visit these pages to meet up;)

Dunno any more at this stage mate. As you say, the previous time NO played there was in a Marquee so maybe the same. Al Jarvis & other cockerney-ish Order fans often quote this as there best ever Order gig. Barney had to keep asking the crowd to move back cos it was getting so manic down the front.
Factor 12 actually which may explain the problem ;). Am now peeling at a ferocious pace, in fact there is a smattering of Giles skin on the floor of the internet cafe I'm currently in & also in the room I've just vacated at the Adelaide Youth Hostel :D.
Whaddya mean, too much information?!
looks like i may have to purchase that airline ticket to the u.k. after all...
so what's the weather like in early June...
