What was the point of chopping 20 seconds off Turn for a single edit? Isn't 4:30 ok as a single length? Rubbish edit as well. Was someone paid for this!!

I guess its all about radio airplay time. The shorter the length of the single, the more chance it can be aired and so become Radio-friendly.
As a result some songs become totally ruined in the edited format. I remember when I used to like Dire Straits in the 80's (before Id even heard of NO I hasten to add) that they had some awlful edits (Eg Brothers In Arms and Money For Nothing).
Face it, the edit is a taster so you buy the album ;)
However, sometimes I prefer the edited version... Crystal is my perfect example... straight to the point, no useless intro.
Whats the point in moaning? Instead of one version of the song we have two, and some people prefer the Singles edit, so everyone's a winner. Couldn't give a stuff which version the non-New Order idolising public gets to hear.

Really??? I much prefer the LP version to the edit. I think the intro and outro have so much atmosphere to othem, and let the song build and unwind so well. The edit is still good because it's a great song no matter what, but I prefer the lengthy version. But I understand what you're saying, Spotnick!

I hate all edits. Agree about the intro to Crystal. I think its one of NO's better (reminds me of Pink Floyd "Pig In The Sky?" song).
