Sub-Culture (Razormaid Mix)

I just found a copy of sub-culture that purports to be the razormaid mix from substance abuse(volume 4 , I guess). It's eight and a half minutes long and has these horrid homemade sounding drum beats placed in it. In addition, it has two other people singing towards the end. A guy who sounds like Peter Murphy on helium and a woman who sounds like the maid from Rocky Horror Picture Show. She hits some nastier off key notes than Barney does!!!

My question is, is this a real razormaid mix or is someone having fun at my (and others') expense? I'm frightened!!!

I believe it's real, as I think there are three mixes around by Razormaid - unless it's some silly hoaxy thing perpetuated by those on Napster etc (like Radiohead doing 'Video Killed the Radio Star...').

There's the icky one you describe, the sub-par Berlin mix, and the one originally released on Razormaid's subscription vinyl (and squished onto a Record Mirror 7" as well) - the latter of which is simply brilliant...

My God, is that version ever horrible!!!! Downloaded it about a week ago, and when I finally listened to it (had mp3 playing randomly) I was cooking dinner when I heard that horrid singing. Bad karoake is a very kind way to describe that....NO or not, I deleted that sucker right then and there....

From the way you guys have been slating this, I'm quite grateful that I haven't heard it yet. Maybe that's for the best then.....

If you want bad singing, and from Barney at that, you should hear some of the stuff on the BLT master tapes that didn't make it! I was "lucky" enough to hear some of it years ago, but sadly don't have a copy. :|

Perhaps we should start an activist group, People for the Ethical Treatment of New Order Songs (PETNOS)? I wasn't very impressed with the Someone Like You Remixes either!

Send ten dollars U.S. and all good (bad ones too, I guess, so I can make fun of them) remixes to me!
