What song do you think comes across best live????

Atmosphere? - if it wasnt for the whoops and yelps is incredibly moving when your standing amidst a sea of NO fans all waving and crying etc..

Regret? - another one which works well live i think, all that raw guitar based power :)

what others?????

I'm still all for "Temptation"!!!!!!

I'd take that over Bluest Mondays any day!!!!

Damn right!! Temptation is a surefire winner live!! (and it goes on for ages as well which is a bonus!!)

It seems that song will relentlesly keep winning NewOrder Oscars!!

I will agree with Temptation as both times i have seen it here was received well, but i still cannot go past Blue Monday as well, even if you have seen it you have to admit when it start the crowd enthusiasm jumps.

Temptation, Ceremony, Love Vigilanties, YSF and Close Range from the recent dates. AOC, Sunrise, TF, BLT and All the way from The OLD days:lol:

I must say, when I heard Bizarre Love Triangle live, I fell in love with the song all over again.

Totally agree Davey:nod: when I picked the first 5 and saw no BLT, I had to put it in me second 5:lol:

Having witnessed no post-Technique dates :( the answer has to be Ceremony. The bass, those drums, that guitar...and then the vocals....the hair on the back of my neck always stood on end during its playing....Temptation wasn't half-bad either.:)

lets see... Ceremony,Age of consent and Regret would be the best ones for me.

Well from my NO experence (one BDO gig) i would have to say True Faith and Temptation on a par as far a getting the crowd fired up goes.

"Your Silent Face" did also very well on the 2001/2002 gigs, especially with the "extended" drum work from Stephen...

yeah, your silent face... love the bit where the melodica goes on and on and on playing the same 3 notes as all the music builds up around it.

SUB FUCKING CULTURE! SUB FUCKING CULTURE! Has anyone heard it (Tokyo '87 especially)? It did better live than the original single or album versions (by far) and went almost techno. SUBCULTURE ALL THE WAY! But as for songs thay actually still play, I'll go with The Perfect Kiss and Ceremony.

 Yes our good friend Sloopy drawers sorted me out with that concert - fookin brilliant - pity the sound isn't that great! Subculture at the W.O.M.A.D Festival 85 is brilliant as well..."This one's called Subculture and it's all about Shagging"

Ceremony, by the proverbial mile.

Temptation would then be 2nd, IMO.

Ceremony and Temptation definitely (2 of my personal faves)

I thought Regret and Crystal came across really well at the recent shows

Your Silent Face was worth the admission money alone, especially as Barney has finally got the melodica bit note perfect.

Going back, they used to link Everything's Gone Green and Temptation together for a while, which always sounded cool.

From what I've actually seen,

1.Temptation 2.Atmosphere (sans Barney's whoops) 3.Crystal 4.LWTUA 5.Ceremony and/or Regret

I saw New Order live for the first time last year, and at the risk of sounding like a sentimental old goat, when they played Temptation the crowds reaction made me realise how much the band and their songs mean to people, and this made me fall in love with New Order all over again....:shy: :)

Now here's a man with fookin' taste. These 5 all kick serious ass.

Have to agree with those who've mentioned Crystal. As an opener it really works, they've got it sorted & it comes over brilliantly, the outro which builds & builds while everyone jigs & jigs...heaven.
