I have just sent the following email response to the Managing "Director":

Hi there,I have just read your explanatory email, and a few things concern me. Firstly, have you considered that over 2,100 attempts to access your site is an unusually high number of people to be trying to "hack" into your site for such an act as New Order. Have you considered the possibility that these additional "hits" were simply a result of the 380 genuine ticket purchasers attempting to refresh and reload Real Audio - as I did many, many times - and also logging out and relogging in to the site itself to try and get a better connection?Secondly, regarding your "consideration" of refunds: I am a consumer. I decided to purchase your service. Your service was faulty. It is not my fault that your site was insufficiently prepared to broadcast this concert, and the implication that I am somehow being "investigated" to establish if it was me somehow trying to rip you off is frankly staggering. You offered a service. I paid for it. Your service was inadequate. I am entitled to a refund, not to have my demand for a refund considered.Thirdly, I ordered my ticket through WorldPay, therefore do not have a mobile number with which to supply you. I can, however forward you the email receipt to prove I ordered my ticket. However, you should have your own records of these to cross reference, and not have to demand that I resupply you with information that your should already be aware of. My refund should be paid back on to the debit card with which it was made - I suspect you don't want to incur any additonal transaction charges from Worldpay by doing so.Fourthly, your customer service leaves an awful lot to be desired. I am a paying customer keeping you in business, if I have an issue with the service you provide, you should be bending over backwards to apologise for your poor service, and refunding my money as soon as possible, not asking me to be "patient" and telling me how good your previous broadcasts have been, and slyling implying that I may have been some sort of "hacker". I was patient enough trying to log in to the stream on Monday night. The new password providing unlimited access to the archive is obviously a step in the right direction at soothing my complaint, but I note that I have yet to receive notification of this password.I am very concerned about the unprofessionalism being demonstrated over this whole issue. For your information, my request ID was ******, and password ****** - but you should already know this. My address is [...]I would like to be informed as soon as possible by you as to what I can expect to happen next.Yours Faithfully,Andrew Morrison

Hopefully this will make them take their paying customers a bit more seriously - as well as their ability to secure their website.

Well, I get a stream, but it's fucked. What remains to be seen is.....did they capture a copy at the venue?

If not, then I very much think the archive recording will also be fucking banjaxed. However, in contradiction of that theory, when I try to watch it now, the bandwidth incoming just falls away, and my connection is otherwise idle.

I'll try that stream downloading thingy (if they don;t want people downloading it, they shouldn't make that the only way to see it) if I can remember it's name. And I've had no offer of a refund from the cunts.

Is it playing one frame of video every 15 or 30 seconds for anyone else?

Is this how it's supposed to be?

What a fucking gyp.

I'm watching the archived feed with my original password right now. Framerate is steady at 20+ FPS.

Here is my reply from "Forbes":

Dear Andrew,The data streamed shows that 2100 people tried to watch the stream and were downloading data. We are a small company that is wholly self funded. What we believe happened on Monday night was an massive theft of our copyright. This in turn hit a download barrier we had prepaid for in terms of the server sizing we had prepared for. (Each server can run about 600 sessions and we had 3 based on a ticket sale of 260 2 hours before the show.) The gig on Monday cost me personally £3200 and the revenue we gathered was £1900. What is disappointing is that supposed fans of New Order aren’t willing to pay the price of 2 bottles of beer at a gig to watch them but would rather try and steal it.We are running flat out to sort things out and are not implying anything about the nature of your business or the relationship with you. We utilize a third party payment engine which has proven difficult to utilize as a refund engine. This has been noted and we are reviewing the situation with a view to changing it. We have taken the next steps to ensure that the situation is rectified. We have had requests for refunds from people who do not have a ticket and now we have your mail address we will be able to check it and respond to you appropriately. We asked for your address and now that we have it we will be refunding you.The password you have will work in the archive till next Monday and, once we have instigated a security system to stop the theft (The live date for this is Friday) we will provide a password that is compatible with this.We said in our post that we would update you on Thursday and we will. There was no inference of a lack of customer service at any point. We are simply not working on the basis of a knee jerk reaction.Sorry once again for the inconvenience and hassle you have had and thank you for the patience and understanding you have shown to date.Best regardsForbes HamiltonManaging Director

So, another "Emporer's New Clothes", in that a website has been launched before it has been properly tested. Still fail to believe over 2000 people were trying to hack into the site for whatever reason!

Yup. Just seen the whole gig without a single glitch. So I feel even more frustrated I wasn't able to watch it live now. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

That was 210 people trying to open 10 streams to have at least one working right... :nonono:

It's not your fault guys, it's THEIR fault if their system is not secure...

I'm very happy I couldn't watch it live finally since I was at work, I would have been pissed... this means that if 1000 people would have bought a last minute ticket, the problem would have been the same.

Bad organisation.

This is really dissapointing. We paid £5 for a live stream of New Order and ACR but so far only got the archived New Order version that they now are selling for £3. What a hoax!

hrm thanks

I hope I can get it sorted out by Monday. Or else, I'd have to take advantage of the 2000 stolen copies of the show floating around there somewhere.

What an unprofessional little fucker.

What gets me the most is this:

"What is disappointing is that supposed fans of New Order aren’t willing to pay the price of 2 bottles of beer at a gig to watch them but would rather try and steal it."

It screams student running the company from his dorm room!

This particular NO fan, spent his entire 2 weeks fucking income on this gig, AND a fiver for the webcast which still wasn;t working when he got home on tuesday night.

incidentally....class action is possible, I believe he says "new order fans" not "certain new order fans " or "some new order fans"...he has accused all of us IN WRITING, oh dear.

Oh, and since I didn't even connect during the gig, on account of bwing there, he can add one more obvious theft to his new numbers.

Anyone actually get the email we were promised today?? I certainly didn't.

Think there will be further repercussions on this one, somehow. Unprofessional, as has already been stated.
