Anyone else had an email from a Stuart Taylor regarding the web broadcast, its asking for the mobile number and password to start 'refund' of the £5.

Sounds dodgy to me. I've never given my email address when registering via mobile.

A Scam ????

HERE'S THE EMAIL COPIED AND PASTED Hi,

Please find below a message from the managing director of Live Gigs Online.

Stuart Taylor Operations Manager Live Gigs Online

Dear Guys,

Please accept our apology for the web broadcast last night. We have now streamed many concerts since last May from a variety of venues without a hitch or any interference. We have had a lot of positive feed however none of this will be of any comfort to you.

The process we followed for New Order was no different to the standard setup checklist we follow and all the appropriate authorities were notified and licenses paid. The satellite signal we had was above normal both at the dish and at the computer (For those that understand satellite broadband, we were getting a ping rate averaging 660ms which is totally acceptable)

We sold 380 tickets but had over 2500 connections and were experiencing sniffer (hacker) access to our network which contributed to the issues with last night however we are not absolutely certain the cause of the failure. (Our suspicion is that a third party was trying to access the stream with a view to capturing it.)

We will be exploring the situation today and tracing IP addresses which should provide us with an explanation by Thursday. The archive will be up later today and if you purchased a ticket you will receive a new password providing unlimited access to the archive. Once we have established the reason for falling over we will consider refunds.

To start the refund process can you please reply to this post with your mail address along with the mobile number used to process the ticket and the password, as we cannot directly refund to txt or credit card.

We would appreciate your patience in this.

If there are any questions or issues please don’t hesitate to contact me at forbes@LiveGigsOnline.com.

Sorry again for the disappointment.

Right from the start, are you able to watch it now then?

To be honest I don't really see how it could possibly be a scam (apart from last night, which was a scam-ola). They just want to make sure they only give one refund per password because since it was done by text message and no email addresses were involved it's a bit tricky verifying who did actually pay to watch and who just wants five quid.

Er - I paid by credit card not text.

Archived stream still not working!

Was a top night, tring to watch online but no-joy. Reason I think its a scam is, I paid by text, but got this by email. Never sent 'them' my email address so how could they send the email ?? Think its someone that just wants to watch it using my password maybe ???

I always thought the Web Brodcast was scam : I don't want to pay £5 to rent content for seven days. I wouldn't pay £5 for a NO video file unless I could burn it simply and easily onto DVD at TV or DVD quality.

Glad its kosher, still trying to download it. Got a program called 'Streamdown' which I've used in the past, downloads it and saves it onto your hard drive.

I got this email too. Wasn't sure if it was genuine so I just forwarded the entire thing back to info@livegigsonline.com, including the info they were asking for. I got a text message from them this morning as well.

The whole thing was a complete farce and I gave up on it early on. I just couldn't be bothered with it.

wish they'd bloody hurry up and archive it.i imagine it will be straight forward to watch then instead of getting that error message

really dissapointed with the stream last night. Especially as I went to the effort of moving my PC to my living room and feeding the signal into my Hi Fi. It worked for A Certain Ratio and then got worse and worse the nearer it got to the Order taking stage. Also - Real Player - god I hate that player, flaky as hell. Kept getting a "Browser not recognised" error even though it had wored previously. Even spent 20 mins un-installing and re-installing the Real player but to no avail. It really pisses me off that tonight I've spent another 20 minutes getting the flippin archive to work and that isn't working either!

So... Let's see, they can't control the security of their site's streams, and expect us to wait for refunds for a genuinely faulty service, while they investigate us to see if we were ripping them off?

I want a refund now, and I used credit card & World Pay, so I expect it refunded to that!

Darn shoddy.

Don't think it matters really, as the old passwords no longer work. You're just sending them a password that is now inactive

I seem to still get in with my password but it's still that error message when it tries to load.
