Who's Joe? wrote: I don't blame Phil, I actually blame the current spate of british bands - Oasis, Franz, etc etc etc. Everyone, except the Killers and Bravery (American, I know) are in love with the guitar. As for set selections, I am watching 316 right now, and jesus, they could do Paradise (two guitars) also Leave Me Alone and several of the other tracks mentioned. As for Joy Division tunes, I like that this incarnation of the band is up to 8 songs they can play from that catalog, but I think it should kept in check - like 3 a night (but not the same 3 - jump around between the choices) You know make a setlist that says -
random JD song - see Barney random JD song - see Hooky random JD song - see Steve
Give them each a choice with how they are feeling that night and how they are feeling off the crowd. Some crowds (NYC, SF) would like certain tunes, whereas Machester or London might prefer others. Variety is the spice of life.
Yeah, uhuh, yeah, see, I see yer problem right there, you ar making perfect SENSE....forget it, sense has no place in the mucis industry, doubly so where these wastrels ae concerned.
