Not sure if this has been done before; apologies in advance if it has...

For all those of us owning NO / JD Vinyl discs can you;

a. Give a disc etching quote (from LP, 12" or other...) with the name of the song.b. Have a guess, or maybe enlighten us, as to what the quote truly means...

I'll go first:

a. 'OUTVOTED'; Blue Monday.

b. Maybe this refers to the cost of the sleeve; perhaps some band members didn't want to burn up profits on extra sleeve costs, but in the end they were outvoted by maybe Wilson or Barney...

We'l let Clive do the Closer inscription.....

Lyrics from the song, it makes me sad. The song is a bit chilling thinking of how Ian died, but the Ceremony release feels like a tribute to him.

;) It says "Old Blue?" which I've always assumed was a reference to the fact that Wilson gave Ian Curtis a tape of Frank Sinatra to listen to while they were recording, to 'inspire' him...

Closer: OLD BLUE? (on side A1)

Still: THE CHICKEN WON'T STOP (side 1), a drawing of 6 chickens' footprints (2), THE CHICKEN STOPS HERE (3) + 4 chickens' footprints (4).

All the sides also have the FACT cat. number and side number/letter or name in the case of Unknown Pleasures.

The Transmission/Novelty 7 inch has AND HOW I'LL NEVER KNOW (a-side) + JUST WHY OR UNDERSTAND (b-side)

'What exactly do you mean, peter.' is on the BSide and on the ASide it's the same message in reverse...

I guess this is a reference to the multiple copies (in different colors) of the same image on the sleeve work and that the question is directed towards the art.

I wonder if it's a tongue in cheeky question; i.e. Peter why have you copied all your graphics for the artwork; are you trying to say that all the tracks on the album are also of the same ilk; i.e. very similar and samey...?

Although, obviously this is tongue in cheek and I must add that this isn't my opinion; yes the album does have a unified dance floor feel, but it's also their finest moment IMHO...

I went through mine thinking it would only take a couple of minutes. Half an hour later the floor was covered in cardboard squares.

I can see a very faint inscription / stamp of the word 'STRAWBERRY' imprinted on the original World in Motion 'mixes' 12"...

Not sure if this is the name of some printer company; not seen such monikers used before on NO vinyl... Perhaps it refers to the song itself; i.e. sort of sweet and harmless, like a strawberry...?

Not going to look at mine vinyl is hermetically sealed in body bags from the morgue, in an aluminium flight case in the top of my wardrobe i take the boxes out every 2 weeks on a friday and open them to make sure there is no excessive moisture in them.

Anyone know what's on 'Movement'?

Just checked the 7" of WFTSC.

Looks like 'Phil' has been etched into the groove space... nice surprise as you don't find many groove etches nowadays!

Maybe this means that Phil had more to do with the writing of WFTSC than we realise...
