No you did not! I watched the whole thing and NO New Order, nada nunca, NUH UH, no f***in way, not there!!!!
Thanks guys just wasted two hours of my life when I coulda been watching Notre Dame-Stanford

I'd like to take this moment to let out a hearty "I Told You So" (no relation to the song). Fuck VH1. Let the angry letter writing campaign begin.
Freakin hell, I thought they were going to show them, because in my comcast DVR menu, it mentioned that joydivision-neworder were among the inductees. Dammit.
Hi All...I'm new here. I suffered through VH1 for 2 looong hours for nothing!!!
Has anyone been able to find an e-mail address for VH1? I found a street address: 1515 Broadway New York, New York 10036 but no e-mail. They repeated the program back to back and they couldn't throw New Order in?!?!
I promise not to whine so much in future posts! ![]()

Wow, what a bunch of bullshit. I immediately got on this board after I just watched that broadcast and I am f-ing pissed!!!
I sat and wadded through all that bullshit to see if I could get a glimpse of their performance and we were treated to a "Black Sabbath" finale??? Ozzie can suck my balls!
VH1 and the rest of the American media is a bunch of crap. This is reason number 1 why our music sucks compared to the rest of the world! They could have easily cut the Aretha segment, Jimi Hendrix, and the Kinks segment and put NewOrder back on the show. Wow, that royally sucked!
Yes, my cable system's information system had the incorrect information as well. It stated that "Neworder would perform." What a frig'in FARCE!!!
DESTROY VH1!!!!!

Feel bad for you on the east coast, it was a heckuva game, and the VHI broadcast here hasn't started yet.
I logged on to find out what the east coast viewers thought, and find this thread about the lack of the Order....![]()
Between the "prevent" defense played by Stanford on that last drive, and that news, I'm gonna kinda paraphrase the comic book guy from the Simpsons..."Oooh, there is no emoticon for what I'm feeling now."
Weird thing is that the onscreen Comcast guide does feature a reference to Joy Division/New Order, which has added to my consternation.
To hell with Notre Dame and VH1.

Best way to find where to send our complaints.
Wonderful! I couldn't find anything at their website. Thanks for providing the info.
Not only was Joy Dision/New Order listed on my Directv listing and cut from the broadcast, but there was to be something for John Peel as well. Ridiculous is all I can say!
I forgot about John Peel. I'm getting mad all over again! I don't know why I'm surprised though...I really shouldn't be. God forbid VH1 expand their musical repertoire a little.
Heather
I just sent an email to the vh1 help link spotnik provided. After berating the station for its poor programming decision, I did ask when they will broadcast(presumptive yes) the show with the missing Joy Division/New Order and John Peel segments. I hope to get a response atleast. I don't know how many people are planning on writing but It is worth letting them know that this act didn't go unnoticed.
Hi guys...I've been a lurker here for a long while...I'll join in your disgust of VH1. I'm sending an email too, we saw Ozzy twice and not all of the inductees. Amazing.
Apparently the 3 hour version(with New Order?!) is on VH1 Classic Sunday night.
I just fired off my email. Between I Love the 70s 80s 90s Holidays etc and Best Week Ever, I watch a lot of VH1. Now I'm not so sure I want to anymore. Very deceptive of them after promising New Order on their website and on the cable guide.
I just sent my e-mail off as well. Very disappointing. I hope we get a response at the very least.
Heather
gawd - i'm sorry that happened ya'll. i'm so glad i decided early on not to watch and stuck with the ND vs. Stanford game. that sucks to waste so much time on such bull$#!#. sounds just like the lack of coverage by mtv/vh1 when pink floyd took the stage for live 8.
According to the VH1 website, "VH1 will air the show as a two-hour special. VH1 Classic will air the entire, unexpurgated ceremony." As mentioned by someone else earlier in the thread, VH1C will be showing the 3-hour version tomorrow night (Sunday the 27th) at 8:00 PM and 11:00 PM eastern time. Wish I had known that before I watched it tonight!
Thank God or my sister that I went out to see some live bands instead of stayiung home and watching Vaginal Hiccup 1 that night.
I will watch the uncut broadcast tomorrow, but that doesn't relieve the disappointment that I felt (like the rest of you) when our best groups were cruelly eliminated. I just sent an e-mail to VH1. Here is a closing statement that I made so that the station can get a reality check.
"Shame on you, VH1. How does it feel to have a blue Monday when you don't have true faith in the atmosphere of the music that both groups have created and immortalized, after a futile weekend broadcast? If you get this joke, then I don't see why you have eliminated them from our TV sets."
Don't worry Ian, Barney, Hooky, Steve, Gillian, and Phil. We will fight for your musical dignity. You will not be forgotten. The fans will assure that.

Yes, the finale was John Peel's induction (which included a moving speech by JP's brother) and then Buzzcocks, The Datsuns, El Presidente and Peter Hook performing Ever Fallen In Love.
No good souls in this neck of the woods, WIM. Only lost ones.
You should know that!
:\pimp3:
I did the same thing..I waited for the whole show and realised they weren't going to be on!! Does anyone know where we can see the footage????
VH-1 Classic.....got it! thanks
RAMA
there is no question that VHSucks! if i was inducted to any kind of 'hall of fame' and no mention of it on the showing, that's the biggest insult. fuck vh1!
Can some kind soul watching on the east coast, give us fans on the west coast a heads-up on which hour of the broadcast(first, second or third) New Order will appear on?
I was terribly disappointed at the first VH1 broadcast, especially considering the write-up in the TV Guide. I don't want to sit through the whole thing again.
Thanks, J.W.
Let me get this right...the original "uncut" broadcast will be on VH1 Classic??? If so, thanks! I will try to watch it!
I sent my email. Thanks for the help!
I watched VH1 just now, still no New Order! Instead of the station playing the uncut broadcast of UK Music Hall of Fame, there is a "Breaking Bonaduce" marathon!!! What's up with that?
You need to have VH1 Classic! They'll be on this version, they already have showed some clips of them.
I'm recording...looks like 1st hour...unfortunately I have to leave soon :(
Anyone writing snail mail letters to VH1? I think I'm going to.
Spotnick wrote: Seriously though, somebody should find the email to send hate mail.
I'm all for that...fucking VH1 losers. makes me want to take a
to their gonads.
and it repeats at 11pm til 2 am EST....
what time did New Order walk up??? I missed it the first time, cause my wife had to watch her show....
how far into it do we see the order go up??? (I did hear hook plays at the very very end as well...)
I would rather not watch the first 2 hours if it is just gonna be regurgitations of The Who and Dylan (who are great but who I have overdosed on already....)

I clicked over at around the 1hour 30 minute mark and they were in the middle of Regret, follwed by LWTUA. Not certain how long they had been on before this.
They came on about 20-25 minutes into the second hour, I think (forgot to look at the time, and I've had a few glasses of wine). The whole thing is repeated again at 8 tonight.

NO appeared about halfway through the show.
THANKS for the quick feedback!!!
I will now have to consume more wine on a sunday night (gonna make my monday morning SO fun!) in order to prep for some fresh new order at 12:20am Mondee....
if you are on the east coast, and get VH1 Classic, stay up til midnight til 1am to catch New Order!!!!
and is it true Gillian shows up??? I wonder if she plays at all??? hmm......
a toast to Gillian is coming right up.... (sound of wine pouring)... later fellas!
Tarbox, yes she was there but she did not play. Here is a photo of her from the UK broadcast.
Stephen had some drum trouble on at the end of Regret and during the first half of LWTUA. Hooky started the latter a bit sloppily in his rhythm. Barney did not sing shite, relatively speaking. Phil was in a black turtleneck and didn't get much air time.
Still glad to see 'em, especially after that horrid Alanis Morrisette doing atrocious covers of Bob Dylan songs.
from what i saw the nearest they got to even showing somebody from Manchester was a fast audience shot that included Shaun Ryder
I was lucky enough to catch it last night
I think they sounded pretty good considering they are older than dirt.
It was about half way thru the show...They gave a quick anthology on Joy Division and New Order and all 5 members went up to receive the award.
Then they played Regret and LWTUA.
Hooky looked like he was enjoyin LWTUA.
((((e))))
Give me the head of VH1 and I will:
Say:
:mail4u:
And:
:barf:
Guess that proves the natural law that whenever NO looks like becoming recognised by all and sundry, they will be pushed off back into a shadowy corner.
Sod the rest of the world, at least we 'get' it.
I'm glad I downloaded the New Order and John Peel bits from Dime a Dozen instead of watching VH1

I actually enjoyed the show...
OZZY and BLACK SABBATH were nuts.
Never thought I'd see the pretenders again either.

Phil's "wankery" is called normal musical ability, too many of our number have had their ears and minds warped by the NO version of talent, that any breath of what the wider human race thinks of as aptitude for an instrument, is considered an insult.
I too resented Phil to start with, but as NO have clearly held his nose and openned his mouth and poured fuck knows what down it for 4 years now, he has gracefull progressed from Phil the nice boy session dude, to Phil, gibbering idiot and full time member of NO. Look at the shape his face on stage half the time these days, he's not got a fucking clue. Fits RIGHT on in there now. Slash is simply a cunt, he's everything that makes guitarists the major threat to the final acceptance of Darwin. And he took more takes to get the intro to sweet child o mine down than it took our own beloved village idiot barney to get procession right, and that's HIS worst studio disaster (not counting sunkist or RTS)

I just watched the finale. does any one know who the female drummer is? she's quite beautiful.
god damn vh1. i was expecting new order on the show too. but i missed it and i got all worked up that i missed it and now im mad that they cut it, at least somebody could have seen it and i could watch it some other time except they had to cut them out. what a bunch of cocksuckers. damn, vh1 has gone seriously low on my tv watchage list now, theyre below gome and harden channel, and i hate those basterds. grrr. somebody should pirate them playin from somewhere.. somehow... and we shoudl send massive hate mail to them now.
Did anyone else hear the click track counting in on Regret? Guess somebody goofed and bussed it to the mains instead of just their personal monitors... or maybe I was hearing things.
As for Slash, I've heard from more than one person who's actually met him that he smells as bad as he looks...
Chuckles wrote:

Dawn Zhu from El Presidente...

And as for Slash, couldn't you just see Chas Chandler wondering whether or not to smack him in the mouth when they were presenting the award...

Gee, nobody told me it was available there !!
How many people have VH1 Classic??? I never heard of it. What do they show on that channel?? Eagles, Fleetwood Mac and James Taylor--stuff not hip enough to make it on MTV yet there was an adult audience. Is that not what VH1 was all about when it first aired?
I have basic cable so I can get high speed internet. Premium cable would be a waste because the children will have the tv on Cartoon Network anyway.

I have VH1 classic.. it plays mostly new wavish stuff and music from the 80s. BUT you do get all that pap that you are talking about as well.
I understand your point though, that it should be availble to everyone else. But you at least have basic cable, until a month ago and for years, all I had was 4 channels and a pair of rabit ears. Imagine how I felt :P

Jesus Christ i haven't heard Anyone with the Rabbit Ears Since the Late 80's!
On VH1 Classic's Alternative Hour, you can usually count on a regular airing of Depeche Mode's 'Policy of Truth'. 'Round and Round' gets played frequently as well, though other NO videos seem to be ignored. I saw the hysterical video for Captain Sensible's 'Wot' a week or two ago. Made my night (clearly a very boring one indeed).
Oh yeah, so no one else noticed the trouble Steve was having with his kit? I mentioned it earlier. The fills on LWTUA were late and rushed. I think his hi-hat was positioned to close to the snare; he looked quite uncomfortable during throughout the performance. I feel bad, 'cause Steve is such an ace drummer 98% of the time.
twist wrote: How many people have VH1 Classic???
I don't have it either. When I was deciding which cable to get, I went cheap because I don't watch much TV so I don't get things like VH1 Classic...figures that's who would show New Order.
