okay, the cover isnt very good, its just FOB's lead singer and his guitar, nothing else. no keyboards and so u cant really hear the LWTUA theme synths. it pretty much sucked. but it makes me feel a tad better that some of our american musicians actually know how joy division is, and its a pretty big deal that he did a cover over them

the first time i heard this i hated it, but i guess it was just the surprise of hearing a band my students listen to covering JD. now i don't think it's terrible, just mediocre.
you think that if all these bands that cover LWTUA were true fans they would cover something else, shouldnt they realize that everybody & their Mothers have Covered it already?

True, but then again, if bands want to reach a wider audience, they need to cover the better-known stuff, which usually means singles. That leaves only three Joy Division tracks...

but if you are a true fan you are covering JD for your satisfaction not trying to gain a few people who might think that you are cool because you can play LWTUA

I can't stand Fall Out Boy especially "Sugar We're Going Down." I can't believe they are going to cover LWTUA...
This is pretty hard on the ears actually.
I can't wait for my students to come in singing Love Will Tear Us Apart, the latest from Fall Out Boy

I asked my husband this question since he knows JD only because of me and isn't an avid listener. He says LWTUA, Transmission, and Dead Souls. I suspect he says Deal Souls because Nine Inch Nails covered it so he heard that before I could have any influence over him!

The Swans covered LWTUA. Not quite as good as Goddamn The Sun but wtf they did this back in the 1990s.
